Task 1

When a loved one is diagnosed with dementia(癡呆), it can be overwhelming for every member of the family. The devastating brain disease causes the person suffering from it to gradually lose the ability to think and remember, so it's often up to the people around them to help them function on a daily basis.

When 15-year-old Logan Wells' grandmother Nannie developed dementia, he watched his parents and aunt take on the huge task of caring for her. But the difficult time also inspired his idea for CareZare. It's an app that provides a complete toolkit for managing the care of someone with dementia.

Like most families, the Wells quickly discovered that providing the right care for grandmother would be a challenge. But they were more than glad to take on. “We were really facing a big problem,” the family said. “We needed to overcome it. We provided the world's best possible care to keep Nannie safe and happy.”

As Nannie's illness progressed, it became more and more difficult to learn what she needed. That's when Logan began working on the app CareZare with the help of his family. “We're a family with a loved one who needed care,” said the Wells. “And we built CareZare because we needed it.”

The now finished CareZare app invites users to work together. It allows groups of carers to schedule activities in real time. You can record things like the person's mood or how you spent your time together, and leave a “heads up” message for the other users in the group. The team-based way makes families stay on top of their daily tasks and improves communication.

So far, over 600 families have used the app, and Logan Wells hopes that number will grow.

Task 5

概要寫作

閱讀短文,根據(jù)其內(nèi)容寫一篇60 詞左右的內(nèi)容概要。

Office environments are often not good for developing healthy habits. From staring at a computer screen for hours on end to ordering meals or eating packaged snacks, work life can often ruin a healthy lifestyle plan that you have made at home. While the reality is that your workplace is working against you most of the time, there are some simple tips that can help you stay healthy during your 9-to-5 routine. It will take some effort, but the benefits will be well worth it.

Walk throughout the day. It's easy to stick to your desk at work. Mountains of tasks and endless work keep you sitting in front of the computer all day, with few exceptions, like going to the bathroom or going to meetings. Try to schedule short walks throughout the day. This might mean choosing a printer that's far from your desk, making sure to go to the water cooler every hour, scheduling walking meetings instead of sitting, or parking away from your office so you have a bit of walking time before and after work. Many studies have proved walking is the best way to exercise at work.

Find a creative way to get a workout. Leading a sedentary(久坐的) life at work and not having enough time or energy for the gym or a workout class outside the office is a problem faced by many.Luckily, because the issue is so common, there are many devices on the market to help you work out during your workdays. A standing desk is a straightforward option to keep you from sitting all day, but there are also other options that can even get your heart rate up while you sit.

Eat the right foods. When you're stuck at work, it's easy to grab a quick processed snack from the office kitchen or order an unhealthy lunch. Stocking up on anti-inflammatory(消炎的) snacks can help you hold back these unhealthy desires and keep you healthy, no matter what the workday brings.
