基本語法

形容詞和副詞的比較級

1.定義

形容詞、副詞有三個級：原級，比較級和最高級。 英語中，表示兩者相比較時，就要用形容詞或副詞的比較級。

2.構成

（1）單音節和少數雙音節詞

① 一般在詞尾加-er

tall—taller? ? cold—colder

② 以e結尾的詞，只在詞尾加-r

nice—nicer? ? large—larger

③ 以“輔音字母+y”結尾的詞，先變y為i，再加-er

heavy—heavier? ? easy—easier? ?busy—busier

④ 以重讀閉音節結尾的詞，雙寫最末的一個輔音字母，再加-er

hot—hotter? ? big—bigger? ? fat—fatter? ? thin—thinner

（2）多音節和部分雙音節詞：直接在詞前加more

popular—more popular? ? wonderful—more wonderful

（3）不規則變化的詞

3.用法

（1）表示兩者“相等”用“as + 形容詞/副詞原級 + as + 比較對象”。

English is as interesting as maths.

英語和數學一樣有趣。

（2）表示“不如”或“不相等”用“not + as/so + 形容詞原級 + as + 比較對象”或“less + 形容詞 + than”。

It is not so/as cold today as yesterday.

今天沒有昨天冷。

As for me， English is less important than Chinese.

對我來說，英語沒有漢語重要。

（3）用“形容詞/副詞比較級 + than”進行兩者的比較。

The earth is bigger than the moon.

地球比月球大。

（4）比較級前可用much，far，a lot，still，no，a little，even，any等來修飾。

My brother is much older than I.

我的哥哥比我大得多。

（5）由and連接同一個形容詞的兩個比較級，可以表示“越來越……”。

I think English is becoming more and more difficult.

我認為英語變得越來越難了。

（6）用“the + 比較級...，the + 比較級...”，表示“越……，就越……”。

The more you read， the more you will know.

你讀得越多，懂得就會越多。

（7）當比較的雙方屬于同一范圍內的時候，要接other或else。如果比較的雙方不屬于同一范圍內的時候，不用other或else。

Shanghai is bigger than any other city in China.
