Task 1

An unforgettable trip

Our school organized a one-day trip to a farm last Sunday.

At around 9 am,we arrived at the farm on the school bus.Upon arrival,we were warmly welcomed by the kind farm owner and his wife.We were divided into several groups to pick fruits,water vegetables and taste delicious fruits and vegetables.Moreover,the couple told us about how they started the farm,which impressed us a lot.

This outdoor activity really benefited us.Not only did it get us closer to nature,but it also taught us the value of hard work.

Task 2

A poetry contest was held successfully

In order to help teenagers learn more and appreciate poetry,a poetry contest was held in the hall of our school last Sunday.

More than 200 students gathered together,reciting their works and exchanging thoughts.This contest achieved a great success.Many competitors thought highly of this activity,adding that they had a much closer communication with poems through this competition.

It is well known that poetry can help us release pressure and grow up more happily.Therefore,we'd better think as a poet does,that is,be sensitive and sincere towards the world.

When Grace was passing by theold woman's porch,she suddenly stopped the car.She jumped out of the car with all the lilacs in her arms and went straight to the porch.On the porch,the old woman was still sitting in the wheelchair alone,head bowed.Grace walked up to her,gently placed the flowers on her laps,and said with a sweet smile,“Happy Mother's Day! ”The old woman lifted her head,surprised.And then,a smile blossomed on her face.For a few moments,they chatted like a mother and daughter.

Paragraph 2:

When Grace got back to the car,she saw the woman in the wheelchair still waving to her,holding the lilacs tightly.At the sight of this,she thought maybe there was more she could do for the old woman.She waved goodbye back to her merrily,pulled away and headed back to that hill.Afterwards,she brought back strong bushes of lilacs and planted them in front of the porch of the old woman,making it a front yard,just as beautiful as her mother's.Looking at those lilacs,tears of joy welled up in the old woman's eyes!

Get the sock! ”But she couldn't hear them.One of her teammates jumped in the water,grabbed the sock,and threw it at Elizabeth.She still didn't notice.Meanwhile,a girl in lane two was gaining on Elizabeth.At this crucial moment,a girl on Elizabeth's team jumped into the pool,grabbed the sock,and swam after Elizabeth.She grabbed Elizabeth's foot.“You have to put the sock on,”the girl screamed.Elizabeth trod water while her teammate put on the sock.

By now,the girl in lane two was about to pass Elizabeth.With the sock finally on,Elizabeth swam with effort for the last 15 meters.It was close.But finally Elizabeth beat the other girl to the wall for the victory.Wild cheers and loud applause erupted from the audience.Then came much celebration and joy for the members on Elizabeth's team.They hugged and laughed together as if they had won an Olympic event.And,for a few minutes,Elizabeth was the hero.
