Joint Declaration of Friendship Associations from Four Countries with Ancient Civilizations on World Peace and Development

We， the heads of friendship associations from four countries with ancient civilizations including China， India， Egypt and Greece， held a virtual dialogue under the theme “Upholding Justice and Achieving Common Development” on June 24， 2022. We had candid， friendly and in-depth exchanges， reached consensus on a broad range of issues of common interest regarding world peace and development， and decided to issue the following joint declaration：

We agree that as countries with time-honored histories and splendid civilizations， China， India， Egypt and Greece have shared views and interests in upholding equity and justice， safeguarding world peace and promoting common prosperity. It is the shared aspiration of civilized countries to overcome difficulties through solidarity and pursue common development in harmony. It is the common call of civilized countries that one should respect both ones own culture and the culture of others in order to advance human civilization. It is the common view of civilized countries that countries should treat each other with respect， seek common ground while shelving differences， engage in mutual learning， exchanges and dialogues， and pursue peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation. Working together to build a community with a shared future for mankind will lead us to a better tomorrow.

We agree that civilization is the crystallization of the progress of hu- man society， the common intellectual treasure of people all over the world， the cultural bond that upholds and promotes the common values of peace， development， equity， justice， democracy and freedom for all mankind， and the important force for promoting world peace， harmony， development and prosperity， guiding human society toward progress.

We agree that it is the common aspiration of peoples of all countries to pursue peace， seek development and promote cooperation， and to work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind. We should abandon the law of the jungle and resolutely oppose the Cold War mentality of zero-sum games and all forms of hegemonic practices that deliberately incite ideological confrontation and camp confrontation and deprive people across the globe of their development rights and interests. We highly appreciate the firm stance and determination of most governments and peoples in the world， including those in China， India， Egypt and Greece to uphold fairness and justice and to safeguard world peace and development.

We firmly support each other in upholding the United Nations-centered international system， the international order based on international law and the basic norms governing international relations built around the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. We firmly practice true multilateralism and promote the construction of a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect， equity and justice， and win-win cooperation.

We highly appreciate the peoplecentered development philosophy， the Global Development Initiative， Global Security Initiative and the initiative to build a community with a shared future for mankind put forward by President Xi Jinping. We firmly support each others unremitting efforts in striving for national rejuvenation and improvement of peoples well-being while putting the people front and center. We agree that it is the common aspiration of people around the world to achieve win-win cooperation for common development and live a happy life of peace， harmony and prosperity.

We would like to join the people around the world in strongly calling on all parties to embrace peace and oppose conflict； uphold justice and reject hegemony； stand for solidarity and cooperation， and oppose division and confrontation. Let the light of civilization shine across the world and dispel the dark clouds at an early date！
