4Since Qianmen Street reopened for business on August 7, 2008, after completion of reconstruction, 12 time-honored stores, including Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant, Yueshengzhai and Dabei Photo Studio, have already returned for business. Average passenger flow on Qianmen Street reaches 156,000 people a day.

5Qianshi Hutong—the narrowest hutong in Beijing—is located there. At its narrowest place, the alley is only 40 cm wide. More than 100 years ago, it was the biggest market for silver and coins in China. To prevent theft, the hutong was built narrow so that escape routes could easily be blocked.
