1As a civilization thousands of years old,fishing has been China's lifeblood—a culture rich with gifts from its rich waters.From the rapids of the Yellow River to the Yangtze River,from the East China Sea to the South China Sea,these waters nurture(養(yǎng)育)generation after generation,forming a distinct character among its fisherfolk.However,taking too much from these waters has its drawbacks.It is quite necessary for us to take action to develop and protect them.

2Wang Zhenzhong was born into a fisherman family,whose father and grandfather were both famous fishermen of Tanmen Township,Hainan Province.Apart from their rich sailing experience,the family was famous for a historical route book called Geng Lu Bu handed down since the Yuan Dynasty as a major guide for sailing the South China Sea.

3Though he had fisherman blood,Wang developed an interest in music.His passion for music led him to the Chinese capital,Beijing,where he studied playing the guitar,and began to enjoy a comfortable life.

4It was a phone call from his grandmother that led him back home.The local government wanted to turn Hainan Island from its traditional fishing roots into an international re-sort island and a modern service industrial center.It's music to the ears of his family who encouraged him to return.

5Wang's return is a rediscovery,breathing new life into his seaside hometown.He opened a local bar,a way to nurture his music career.But this time,his music shows respect for his hometown's maritime（靠近海的）roots.He also opened Tanmen Story Museum.“After coming back,I found that there is so much beauty waiting for us to discover,so I started the story museum.It is a showcase of Tanmen's culture,history and spirit through thousands of years.Let more people have a closer look at or understand our ancient sea roots,”said Wang.

6With China's tireless pursuit of a better life for its people,there are more and more places in the country where a modern,high-tech lifestyle can mix with traditional rural life.These are unique and admirable stories of the lives of real people doing their best and often succeeding in finding their great places in the world.
