In our daily diet, staples[ 主食]like rice and noodles are essential.Theres a growing concern aboutclaims that excessive stapleconsumption leads to weight gainand diabetes[ 糖尿病]. Chinas first-ever giant pandas college

On September 25th, Chinas first-ever college dedicatedto the study of giant pandas was inaugurated in Nanchong,Sichuan Province. The college was jointly established[ 建立] bythe Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Sichuan Province andChina West NormalU n i v e r s i t y. G i a n tpandas, a speciesunique to China, areglobally recognized asthe “flagship species”?of the worlds biodiversity[生物多樣性] conservation.
The college is intended to play a crucial role in protecting theecological environment, restoring habitats, constructing a pandanational park, promoting panda population recovery, facilitatingreintroduction into the wild, as well as conducting research anddisseminating panda culture. Since the 1970s, the university hasbeen devoted to giant panda research, and has created “fourfirsts” in this field, according to the universitys Party chief WangYuanjun. The university led the countrys first giant panda fieldinvestigation and research, established the worlds first giantpanda field ecological observation station, promoted Chinas firstinternational cooperation on wildlife protection, and published theworlds first academic monograph that comprehensively exploresthe ecological environment of giant pandas.

Chinese team was conferred Laurels for Team Achievement Award

At the 74th InternationalAs tronauti cal Congressin Baku, Azerbaijan, theChange-5 team was conferredthe 2023 Laurels for TeamAchievement Award. Onthe certificate awarded to the Chinese team, the InternationalAcademy of Astronautics wrote that during the 23-day mission,the Change-5 team successfully completed the complex mission.It noted the Chinese team has made outstanding contributions tomankinds lunar and deep-space exploration.
Hu Hao, chief designer of the Change 5 mission and a seniorplanner at the China National Space Administration, said at the?award-issuance ceremony that he hopes more scientists andengineers from the international space community could take partin Chinas lunar exploration projects. He said the samples retrievedby the Change 5 probe will soon be open to foreign researchers.It was Chinas first lunar sample-returning mission and one of itsmost sophisticated and challenging space endeavors[ 努力]. Thelandmark mission returned 1,731 grams of rocks and soil back toEarth, presenting the first lunar substances[物質] to humans sincethe Apollo era.
