The Garden花園

Today was a special day， because Sarah’s parents were taking her to her aunt’shouse and letting her spend the whole day there. Sarah had been to her aunt’shouse before， but it was usually for a short visit. She had never been there byherself， and never for a whole day. Since Sarah loved her aunt， she was excited tospend more happy time with her in her house.

Her aunt lived far away from her parents， and it took at least two hours by carto travel from her house to her aunt’s house. Because of the distance1， Sarah onlygot to see her aunt five or six times a year. When Sarah arrived at her aunt’s house，she was happy to see that it was still painted the same happy yellow color， and thatit still had the beautiful garden in front of it.

Her favorite thing to do with her aunt was to work in her garden. There， heraunt grew fruits and vegetables like tomatoes and apples. Sarah loved working sideby side with her aunt， under the blue skies， white clouds and beating sun2. Sheloved the feeling of getting dirt between her fingers and putting her hands in theground. She especially3 loved planting a new fruit and watching it grow each timeshe came back to the house.

Spending a whole day at her aunt’s house was everything that Sarah had beendreaming about. The weather was warm， the birds were singing their beautiful music，and she was doing her favorite thing in the world. It was a relaxing day， and Sarahclimbed trees， picked tomatoes， and ate apples while sitting in the garden.

She also played with her aunt’s dog， whose name was Snow. Snow was a littlewhite dog with a cold nose， soft ears and short feet. He was fast and liked runningafter Sarah around the garden and getting the sticks that she threw for him.

Sarah had a very happy day. Her aunt was very old， around sixty years old， andhad gray hair and glasses. She always smelled like sweet flowers. Her husband oftenacted like he was mean4， but he was nice at heart. While Sarah and her auntworked in the garden， planting flowers and vegetables， he sat in front of thetelevision. When they came back into the house， they found that he had made a bigmeal for them. It was good because all their hard work had made them want dinner.

After they ate dinner， Sarah， Snow and her aunt sat in the garden on chairs thather aunt’s husband had brought from the dining room. They looked at the stars and atall the beautiful new things they had planted today. Her aunt’s husband said that theyhad done a wonderful job， and he had never seen so many colors in one place before.

As Sarah looked around her， she thought of how perfect5 the day had been.With good food， good company6， and beautiful sights7 and sounds all around her，she knew that this would be one of her favorite moments for the rest of her life.

As she said her feelings out loud， Sarah’s aunt smiled and agreed8 with her.Her aunt’s husband also smiled and said that Sarah could come over as much asshe wanted for the rest of her summer， and that she could even spend a few weeks atthe house so that her parents would not have to drive back all the time. Sarah closedher eyes and smiled with happiness9， and fell asleep under the bright stars.
