When we watch exciting sports games, we always see the athletes with colorful tapes, what is the effect of these tapes? Can we use it in daily sports?

Kinesiology tape is a specially designed blend of nylon and cotton that creates immense stretchability with needed durability. With medical—grade, hypoallergenic adhesive, the tape generally remains intact on the skin for three to five days, in between treatments. In addition, the tape is also water—resistant and designed to ad—here even through showers or sweaty workouts.

Kinesiology tape can be applied in different ways, depending on why it's needed. Generally, red tape is used to promote blood and lymph circula—tion; blue tape is used to relieve pain and eliminate edema; skin tone tape reduces inflammation without drawing attention to it; black tape is often used to enhance proprioception. This strip is com—monly used to facilitate your hamstrings, which cross both your hip joint and the back part of your knee joint.The "Y" strip is used to cross sensitive areas of your body such as behind your knee or in the front of your el—bow. It is also commonly used for applications to control the position of your kneecap as in patellofemoral stress syndrome or a subluxing patella. The "fan" strip can help control swelling of your leg or arm. It is commonly used in lymphedema management or for superficial contu—sions and swelling.

Kinesiology tape not only has excellent performance in sports injury, but also can play a very good auxiliary role in children's rehabilitation training. Children's sali—vation, insufficient muscle strength, high muscle tone,scoliosis, foot valgus, etc., can use Kinesiology tape to assist rehabilitation. However, there are indications and contraindications for Kinesiology tape, which should be used according to doctor's advice.
