On August 8， the Symposium Commemorating the 140th Birth Anniversary of General Stilwell kicked off at Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office Building. Representatives from the governments， experts， scholars， businesses， and media of both China and the United States engaged in extensive exchanges on the life story of General Stilwell， China-US people-to-people exchanges and cooperation， and the development of China-US relations. They unanimously agreed that China-US relations are one of the most important bilateral relationships in todays world. General Stilwell serves as a bridge of friendship between the Chinese and American peoples. Both sides should cherish long-standing friendships， enhance mutual learning and communication， and deepen understanding and mutual trust through diverse channels. These efforts provide a significant foundation for the development of bilateral relations.

8月8日，紀念史迪威將軍誕辰140周年研討會在重慶市外事大樓舉行。來自中美兩國政府、專家學者、企業和媒體代表，圍繞史迪威將軍生平事跡、中美民間交流合作、促進中美關系等方面進行廣泛交流研討。大家一致認為，中美關系是當今世界最重要的雙邊關系之一，史迪威將軍是中美人民友誼橋梁，雙方應珍視歷史友誼，加強文明互鑒和溝通交流，通過多元渠道增進了解和互信，為兩國關系發展提供重要基礎。

The establishment of the Chongqing Stilwell Museum is of significance to the American people， and will also have a major impact on the Chinese people， especially the younger generation. In 1982， General Stilwells daughter established the Stilwell Scholarship， mainly to fund Chinese students. General Stilwell sponsored a school in Florida， USA. Many of Stilwells stories are told there. My family established the bond with China a hundred years ago. My grandparents and parents worked in the education field in China， and so am I. School is the best place to tell stories. We should inherit China-US friendship and international friendship.

My father has dedicated his whole life to fostering mutual understanding and exchanges between the people of the United States and China， intending to help US personnel understand Chinese culture better and build positive relationships. My father is our role model for lifelong learning.

This event is an important move to enhance the friendship between the Chinese and American people， promote mutual understanding and amity between the two countries， and cement the foundation for our friendship. 史迪威將軍在美國佛羅里達州資助的學校，會分享很多史迪威的故事。我的家族從一百年前就與中國結緣，我的祖輩父輩在中國從事教育工作，我亦是如此。學校就是講故事最好的地方，我們要傳承中美友誼，國際友誼。
