World Oceans Day was marked in varieties of ways by our school last Friday.

The celebrations, which consisted of three parts, began with a presentation by a sea scientist to improve our understanding of the ocean.What came next was a pho-tography exhibition of images in which people are either exploiting the ocean or murdering the marine life without mercy.Finally, a forum was set up to provide us with a platform where we expressed our concerns and shared our ideas on how to advance ocean conservation and education.

It is a fulfilling day, meaningful enough for me to have a better understanding of the effects human activities have on the ocean.
