Abstract:
The education of forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation is a crucial responsibility entrusted to Minzu colleges and universities in the new era of China, as well as a significant measure to carry out a mission—deemed fundamental—of “fostering virtue through education”." In addition, the establishment of an evaluation index system geared towards this" forging of a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation is meant to serve as a strategic apparatus for comprehensively, objectively, and scientifically gauging the efficacy of educational endeavors in this domain in Minzu colleges and universities. Due to the previous, this paper submits that" said education in Minzu colleges and universities aims to cultivate “political consciousness” and “theoretical cognition” among both teachers and students from" diverse ethnic backgrounds, and continuously fortify their “five identities”, and ultimately foster their strong consciousness to the preservation of the Chinese national community." In light of these imperatives, the proposed evaluation system for Minzu colleges and universities should delineate four core dimensions: Political" consciousness, theoretical cognition, behavioral orientation, and emotional belonging." Furthermore, the dynamic nature of educational practices within Minzu colleges and universities would necessitate nuanced, tailored, and distinctive approaches to curriculum design and implementation, potentially creating" exemplary cases as a reference for other institutions. This" would allow an organic combination of general" principles with institutionspecific initiatives in the education of the Chinese national community," thereby potentially enhancing the efficacy of higher educational endeavors aimed at forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. These “distinctive practices and exemplary cases” primarily should" encompass educational philosophy, academic strategies, management systems, operational mechanisms, curriculum frameworks, teaching methodologies, and" solutions to key issues in educational reform. Hence, these distinctive practices and exemplary cases could be considered as additional components of the" proposed evaluation index system. In other words, this" assessment system could be structured around the four main components of “political consciousness, theoretical cognition, behavior orientation, and emotional belonging,”" supplemented by the" “distinctive practices and exemplary cases” as" additional “bonus” items.
After constructing the index system, the Delphi method can be used to scientifically verify the indicators and allocate weights, ultimately forming a comprehensive evaluation index system for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation at Minzu universities," utilizing four primary indicators ( or dimensions)," thirteen secondary indicators ( namely educational philosophy, development planning, organizational construction, discipline construction, curriculum design, scientific research," cohabitation and collaborative learning" spoken and" written language, sports and cultural activities, campus culture, sense of belonging, sense of responsibility," and sense of honor), thirtythree" observation points, and lastly an additional “bonus” item. The evaluation results will be presented in grades, with A for scores of 85 points or above, B for scores within the 75-85 range, C for within the 60-75 range, and D for 60 points or below. Finally," in the" implementation of an" evaluation index system for strengthening the awareness of the Chinese national community in Minzu colleges and universities," due attention should be paid to establishing a sound evaluation and guarantee mechanism. This should include the use of assessment results, resource allocation, policy formulation, and personnel investment. Furthermore, full leverage of the guidance, regulatory, and constructive functions of the evaluation system" ought to be harnessed, in order to effectively deepen the content, diversify" the forms, and achieve precise results of the education of forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
