今年48歲的黃添友頗有些傳奇色彩:生于河源市的一個客家山村,特有的客家人性格造就了他的勤奮與堅強,由一個普通的戰(zhàn)士成為第一軍醫(yī)大學最年輕的副教授,有多項研究成果獲獎。正當他事業(yè)有成、可以潛心做學問的時候,黃添友卻選擇了棄醫(yī)從商。為了將科研成果轉(zhuǎn)化為生產(chǎn)力,實現(xiàn)創(chuàng)業(yè)報國的理想,他闖進了變幻莫測的市場大潮。
棄醫(yī)從商辦實業(yè)
黃添友作為第一軍醫(yī)大學中醫(yī)副教授,在學校小有名氣,不僅他的論文、科研課題總是匠心獨運、獨樹一幟,而且他在中醫(yī)學實用性研究上也總是先人一步,具有很強的超前意識。他是一個極不安于現(xiàn)狀的人,也因為他的這種性格,1993年,他毅然向三九集團總裁趙新先請纓,承擔起籌建三九集團醫(yī)藥研究院的重任,研制出多種三九產(chǎn)品,投放市場后產(chǎn)生了良好的經(jīng)濟效益和社會效益。正當研究院工作如日中天的時候,他得知三九集團計劃進軍功能保健食品行業(yè),便再次請戰(zhàn),滿懷激情地擔當起三九進軍功能保健食品的重任。1995年,三九廣州九天綠實業(yè)有限公司成立,黃添友出任董事長、總經(jīng)理。
黃添友對當時的創(chuàng)業(yè)記憶猶新,最讓他得意的是選擇了洋參含片作為九天綠的首創(chuàng)品牌。“經(jīng)過廣泛的市場調(diào)查和科學的生物實驗,我們瞄準了男女老少四季皆宜的綠色珍品——西洋參。現(xiàn)代科學研究證實,西洋參具有抗疲勞、抗衰老、耐缺氧和調(diào)節(jié)內(nèi)分泌、提高免疫能力及改善心血管功能等多種功效,對人機體起到整體調(diào)節(jié)作用。不過,人們服用西洋參的習慣是‘煮、燉、浸、泡’,這其實是對珍稀洋參的極大浪費。而當時市場上銷售的西洋參制品,西洋參有效成分吸收率也僅為1—2%”。
黃添友進行了大膽的假設與論證。如果西洋參的有效成分直接通過口腔黏膜血管網(wǎng)吸收,其使用效果豈不是更好!黃添友開始親率科研組攻克試制中國第一個“100%洋參含片”的一個又一個技術(shù)難關(guān)。工藝提取上,他們采用先進的“滲漏”方法,完全保留了西洋參的有效成分和清香味道;含服劑量方面,他們通過臨床反復試驗,科學確定每片洋參含皂甙12—20毫克,使三九洋參含片的有效成分比其它洋參含片高出1倍多;溶化時間上,他們運用了最新制藥技術(shù),使三九洋參含片在口腔中溶化時間達15分鐘以上,使之吸收更充分。歷經(jīng)一年多的刻苦攻關(guān)和認真驗證,中國第一個100%純花旗參制成的“999洋參含片”問世,這是國家衛(wèi)生部迄今為止批準的惟一具有“抗疲勞、耐缺氧、免疫調(diào)節(jié)”三種功能的洋參保健精品。
黃添友喜歡綠色——綠色代表生命,綠色昭示健康。黃添友為自己的企業(yè)和產(chǎn)品賦予了一個響亮而富有詩意的名字:九天綠。“九”特指三九集團及其“999”系列產(chǎn)品,同時寓意著“健康長久、事業(yè)恒久”;“天”泛指天然,天地人合,返璞歸真;“綠”孕育生命,代表綠色食品——“九天綠”就是三九集團奉獻給人類的綠色健康食品。
精益求精鑄品牌
當時的黃添友或許還沒有意識到,“九天綠”這個名字在中國的保健品市場會有如此的分量。九天綠實業(yè)有限公司連續(xù)三年被評為“中國保健食品100強企業(yè)”。 作為三九集團旗下的重點二級企業(yè),廣州九天綠實業(yè)有限公司從創(chuàng)建至今,一直致力于實施科技興業(yè)戰(zhàn)略、品牌營銷戰(zhàn)略、創(chuàng)新企業(yè)管理與企業(yè)文化戰(zhàn)略,一舉獲得了“廣州市高新技術(shù)企業(yè)”資格,與當前勢頭正盛的IT企業(yè)并駕齊驅(qū),充分說明了九天綠的高科技含量和競爭優(yōu)勢。

黃添友有一句名言:能賺錢的產(chǎn)品才是好產(chǎn)品。對此他這樣解釋,開發(fā)新產(chǎn)品的市場潛力一定要大,但并不意味著唯利是圖,要對使用者有功效,經(jīng)得起消費者的檢驗。造假或許可以賺個幾百萬,但同樣會丟掉自己的品牌。
2000年,黃添友又斥資近1000萬元,在華南高科技企業(yè)云集寶地——廣州市天河高新技術(shù)工業(yè)園購置了2000平方米的地產(chǎn)作為辦公、生產(chǎn)與科研基地,并于2001年2月27日上午在工業(yè)園建中路16號九天綠的辦公大樓舉行了隆重而簡樸的入園儀式,進駐天河高新技術(shù)工業(yè)園。2003年,公司順利通過GMP認證,標志著九天綠完成了由傳統(tǒng)產(chǎn)業(yè)向高科技產(chǎn)業(yè)進軍的飛躍,也標志著九天綠進入一個嶄新的發(fā)展階段。
戰(zhàn)略聯(lián)盟謀發(fā)展
中國保健品市場前景看好,但市場上產(chǎn)品的良莠不齊也在影響著消費者對保健品的信任。黃添友認為,將中醫(yī)產(chǎn)業(yè)化是新的經(jīng)濟增長點,中醫(yī)保健品只有通過品牌支持和系列化標準,才能走向正規(guī)的產(chǎn)業(yè)化道路。基于此,九天綠的“產(chǎn)品生產(chǎn)集團化和營銷網(wǎng)絡化”兩大戰(zhàn)略出臺。

有了第一步的跨越,黃添友開始考慮下一個飛躍:依靠九天綠良好的品牌和服務體系,將聯(lián)合國內(nèi)數(shù)百家有實力的生產(chǎn)企業(yè)加盟,生產(chǎn)各類健康產(chǎn)品數(shù)千種,實現(xiàn)企業(yè)的快速擴張。2004年6月6日,6家設在廈門鷺燕大藥房的999九天綠健康調(diào)理中心連鎖店開業(yè),標志著廣州九天綠公司的萬家店計劃啟動,此舉是九天綠醞釀多年的中醫(yī)產(chǎn)業(yè)化和營銷創(chuàng)新的產(chǎn)物。據(jù)黃添友介紹,此次聯(lián)手的鷺燕大藥房是福建首家通過國家GSP認證的藥品零售連鎖企業(yè),擁有極完善的零售終端。到年底這樣的連鎖店在福建省將建成150家,未來三到五年內(nèi),10000家調(diào)理中心將遍布全國。
不久前,黃添友在家鄉(xiāng)河源建設了河源九天綠中藥材開發(fā)有限公司,將在三至五年內(nèi)建成集科研、開發(fā)、生產(chǎn)于一體的現(xiàn)代化中藥保健產(chǎn)品生產(chǎn)基地,預計2005年上半年投產(chǎn)。黃添友對九天綠充滿了信心。保健品市場廣闊,隨著人們生活水平的提高,對健康的追求已上升到一個嶄新的階段。九天綠公司將以其知名的品牌、高科技含量、確切的產(chǎn)品功效,以及完善的銷售網(wǎng)絡,打造真正的健康產(chǎn)業(yè)王國。
In 1985, cherishing a passion for pioneering, Huang Tianyou followed Zhao Xianxin, the founder of Sanjiu Group, which is mainly involved in pharmaceuticals production, to Shenzhen. At the foot of Mount Bijia in Shenzhen, they established Nanfang Pharmaceutical Factory, the predecessor of present-day’s Sanjiu Group.
Quite rapidly, the series of drugs produced by Nanfang Pharmaceutical Factory with the trademark of “999” (“Sanjiu” means “Three Nines”) became an instant success for them.
In order to transform his achievements of scientific research into production force, in 1993, Huang Tianyou volunteered to establish the Pharmaceutical Research Institute, which has researched and manufactured many kinds of “999” products, turning out both good economic returns and a high social reputation for the Sanjiu Group.
When Sanjiu Group decided to involve itself in the industry of health food, Huang Tianyou was at height of his career at the Research Institute. However, cherishing full passion again, he volunteered to head the new company to engage in this new industry. In 1998, Sanjiu Guangzhou Jiutianlu Enterprising Co., Ltd., was established and Huang Tianyou assumed the posts of Chairman of Board of Directors and General Manager.
These pioneering experiences still remain fresh in Huang Tianyou’s memories. What he takes special pride in is that he chose the American ginseng lozenge as the first new product of his new company. “After extensive marketing investigation and scientific experiments on animals, we chose American ginseng, a kind of green product that is suitable for all kinds of people - both men and women, old and young. Modern scientific research verifies that American ginseng has many kinds of performances conducive to good health. These include anti-fatigue, anti-senility, resisting oxygen deficiency, regulating the endocrine glands, promoting immunity, and improving performance of the heart and blood vessels. However, Chinese people have the traditional habit of taking American ginseng by means of cooking, stewing, and soaking, which is a great waste of the performance of American ginseng. The American ginseng products sold in the market, therefore, can only absorb 1~2% of the effective performance of American ginseng.”
After a year of hard work, the research group led by Huang Tianyou successfully researched and manufactured the first “100% American ginseng lozenge” in China. Up to now, this is the only American ginseng health food that has the performances of anti-fatigue, anti-senility, resisting oxygen deficiency, regulating endocrine functions, and promoting immunity that is verified by the state Ministry of Public Health.
Huang Tianyou likes the color green, which stands for life and health. Therefore, Huang Tianyou gives a well-sounding and poetic name to his enterprise and product: Jiutianlu (Jiu Tian Lu). In Chinese, “Jiu” means nine, which refer to Sanjiu Group (999 Group) and the “999” series products. “Tian” means nature. “Lu” means green, which refer to the green product that Sanjiu Group contributes to the public.
For three consecutive years, Jiutianlu Enterprise Co., Ltd., has been listed among the “100 Most Powerful Health Food Enterprises in China.” As a major branch enterprise under Sanjiu Group, from its incorporation to the present day, Guangzhou Jiutianlu has been engaged in implementing the strategy to invigorating the enterprise by science and technology, brand name products, innovation, and enterprise culture. Chosen by Guangzhou City as a Hi-tech Enterprise of Guangzhou City, Jiutianlu is fully displaying its hi-tech features and competitive power.
Health foods have excellent marketing prospects in China. However, many products of poor quality are reducing customers’ trust in health foods. Huang Tianyou thinks that the industrialization of traditional Chinese medicine will become a new economic increasing point. Only through the support of brand name produces and series standards, can the health food of traditional Chinese food step on the industrialized road. Based on this theory, Jiutianlu is carrying out two strategies: group production and sales network.
On June 6, 2004, six chain shops with the names of Jiutianlu Health Conditioning Center were opened for business at the Luyan Pharmaceuticals Store in Xiamen City, commencing Jiutianlu’s plan to establish 10,000 chain stores in China.
According to an introduction by Huang Tianyou, Luyan Pharmaceuticals Store is the first enterprise involved in pharmaceutical sales in Fujian Province that has been accredited by the national GSP system. By the end of 2004, Jiutianlu will establish 150 similar chain stores in Fujian Province; and in the coming two or three years, Jiutianlu will establish 10,000 conditioning centers throughout China.
