從…ｅｎｏｕｇｈ ｔｏ說(shuō)起

…enough to是英語(yǔ)中一個(gè)常用結(jié)構(gòu)，它可與so…that，too…to在一定條件下相互轉(zhuǎn)換，并經(jīng)常成為中考命題的對(duì)象。那么在什么情況下三者可以相互轉(zhuǎn)換呢？

Ⅰ. …enough to 和so…that的轉(zhuǎn)換

①當(dāng)that引導(dǎo)的從句為肯定式，且從句主語(yǔ)與主句主語(yǔ)相同時(shí)，so…that可轉(zhuǎn)換為 …enough to結(jié)構(gòu)；從句主語(yǔ)與主句主語(yǔ)不相同時(shí)，so…that可轉(zhuǎn)換為…enough for sb. to結(jié)構(gòu)。例如：

She runs so fast that she can get there first.

=She runs fast enough to get there first.

The question is so easy that he can answer it.

=The question is easy enough for him to answer.

②當(dāng)that引導(dǎo)的從句為否定式，且從句主語(yǔ)與主句主語(yǔ)相同時(shí)，so…that可轉(zhuǎn)換為…enough to的否定結(jié)構(gòu)；從句主語(yǔ)與主句主語(yǔ)不相同時(shí)，so…that可轉(zhuǎn)換為 …enough for sb. to的否定結(jié)構(gòu)。但要注意，轉(zhuǎn)換后的形容詞（副詞）要用其相應(yīng)的反義詞。例如：

Mr. Black is so old that he can’t go to work.

=Mr. Black isn’t young enough to go to work.

The box is so heavy that I can’t move it.

=The box isn’t light enough for me to move.

Ⅱ. …enough to與too…to的轉(zhuǎn)換

當(dāng)…enough to結(jié)構(gòu)為否定式時(shí)，…enough to可與too…to結(jié)構(gòu)相互轉(zhuǎn)換。但要注意，轉(zhuǎn)換后的too…to結(jié)構(gòu)中的形容詞（副詞）要用其相應(yīng)的反義詞。例如：

The problem is too difficult for me to work out.

=The problem isn’t easy enough for me to work out.

Ⅲ. so…that與too…to的轉(zhuǎn)換

當(dāng)that引導(dǎo)的從句為否定式，且從句主語(yǔ)與主句主語(yǔ)相同時(shí)，so…that結(jié)構(gòu)可轉(zhuǎn)換為too…to結(jié)構(gòu)；從句主語(yǔ)與主句主語(yǔ)不相同時(shí)，so…that可轉(zhuǎn)換為too…for sb. to結(jié)構(gòu)。例如：

She was so angry that she couldn’t speak.

=She was too angry to speak.

The ice is so thin that we can’t skate on it.

=The ice is too thin for us to skate on.
