Ｇｏｖｅｒｎｍｅｎｔ，Ｐａｒｌｉａｍｅｎｔ ａｎｄ Ｆｏｒｅｉｇｎ Ｍｉｎｉｓｔｒｙ Ｓｅｃｒｅｔａｒｉｅｓ Ｇｅｎｅｒａｌ ｏｆ Ｃａｐｅ Ｖｅｒｄｅ Ｖｉｓｉｔ Ｃｈｉｎａ

Invited by the CPAFFC， Ivete Lopes， Eutropio da Cruz， and Severino Almeida， secretaries general of the Government， the Parliament， and the Foreign Ministry of Cape Verde， paid a goodwill visit to Beijing， Sanya and Shanghai from March 20 to 27. Abdul’ahat Abdurixit， vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference， had a cordial meeting with them. Chen Haosu， president of the CPAFFC， Zhou Muyao， vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress， and Rong Liping， vice mayor of Sanya， met with them and hosted banquets in their honour. They called on Ji Peiding， vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress， and Zhai Jun， assistant foreign minister， and held talks with the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry， the Department of Foreign Aid of the Commerce Ministry and the Shanghai International Porting Group Zhendong Branch. They also inspected the tourist facilities of Sanya.

In meeting with the delegation， Vice Chairman Abdul’ahat Abdurixit spoke highly of the China-Cape Verde relations. He expressed appreciation of the Cape Verdean Government’s adherence to the one-China policy and thanks for its consistent support for China in international affairs. He believed that under the framework of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation， the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would see greater development.

The delegation held， the government of Cape Verde highly appreciates the concept of building a peaceful and harmonious world and is willing to work together with China to build this ideal society. On the issue of Taiwan， the delegation reiterated again that Cape Verde has always adhered to the one-China policy， that it has not wavered and will never waver. The three secretaries general thanked the Chinese Government for its selfless support and assistance over a long period of time， saying that the aid projects of China have played positive roles in the political， economic， cultural， social and other fields of Cape Verde and are crystalization and symbols of Cape Verde-China friendship. They pointed out that the Chinese Government has relieved Cape Verde of its matured debt and continues to provide the country with aid， for which the Cape Verdean Government is deeply grateful. This will play an important role in the country’s economic transition.
