At the invitation of the Festival of the Spring of Comedians of France and the European Cultural Action Institute (ECAI), Tea House—Chinese Traditional Arts, a Sino-French cultural exchange programme, toured 12 French cities in the regions of Languedoc-Roussillon, Limousin and Midi-Pyrenees from June 15 to July 21, giving24 performances in total. The Programme was jointly worked out by the CPAFFC, Director Daniel Bedos of the Festival and Director Alain Jouffray of the ECAI.
Tea House—Chinese Traditional Arts is a two-hour Chinese traditional performance including tea ceremony, folk music, shadow play, Liyuan Opera, traditional acrobatics, marionette, Sichuan Opera and paper cutting given by over 20 Chinese artists from the China Broadcasting Performing-Arts Troupe, the Shadow Show Troupe of Hua County of Shaanxi, the Quanzhou Liyuan Opera Experimental Theatre, the Puyang Acrobatic Troupe of Henan, the Quanzhou Marionette Theatre and the Chengdu Sichuan Opera Theatre.
During their tour in France, nearly ten thousand people came to watch their performances. The Chinese artists won wide acclaim for their excellent skills. President of the Department of Herault, Mayors of Pompadour, Isle-Jourdain and Uyzrche enjoyed the show and entertained the Chinese artists.
