Romanian Senate Vice President D. I. TaracilaMeeting with the Delegation
On October 4 when the delegation arrived in Bucharest, Doru Ioan Taracila, vice president of the Romanian Senate, met with Chen Haosu and his party in the Parliament Palace. Taracila, on behalf of president of the Senate Nicolae Vacaroiu, expressed his warm welcome to Chen Haosu’s visit and congratulations on the 57th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Taracila said, friendship between Romania and China goes back to ancient times. At present, exchanges between the governments and parliaments of the two countries are increasing and high-level exchanges frequent, which is very important to the development of the relations between the two countries. Meanwhile, cooperation between the people and friendship organizations of the two countries is also very important to strengthening bilateral relations.

Taracila said, Romania will soon join the EU, which is both an opportunity and a challenge to the country. Romania needs to continue reform so as to meet the requirements of the EU. Though economic and trade relations between Romania and China have seen considerable development in recent years, they are unbalanced. He hoped that the friendship organizations of the two countries would play more active role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the economic and business circles of the two countries.
CPAFFC President Chen Haosu said, China and the EU have established all-round cooperative partnership. The CPAFFC, by establishing the China-EU Association, is dedicating itself to further enhancing nongovernmental cooperation with the EU. We hoped that this cooperation would achieve greater development along with Romania’s accession to the EU.
Chen Haosu also briefed about China’s efforts to develop economy, promote cultural and ethical progress, enhance political civilization and build a harmonious society. He also briefed about the good cooperation between the CPAFFC and the China-Romania Friendship Association and the RCFA led by its President Florea Dumitrescu in the past more than 10 years, and said, with the growth of the RCFA, the CPAFFC will strengthen its partnership with the RCFA with pragmatic spirit and make new efforts to promote friendly cooperation between China and Romania.
