
2006年12月18日9時,在喜迎新年之際,諸暨市著名風景點西施殿廣場內,天朗氣清,流光溢彩,由諸暨市旅游局、《文化交流》雜志聯合主辦的“首屆西施故里書畫節”開幕式在這里舉行。
開幕式上,嘉賓云集,群賢畢至:浙江省旅游局局長紀根立、《茶博覽》雜志總編錢吉壽、諸暨市副市長陳中、諸暨市旅游局局長周建明;中國書法家協會副主席、浙江省書法家協會主席朱關田,浙江省書法家協會副主席楊西湖、鄭成山、趙雁君,中國美院教授周滄米,浙江省書法家協會顧問駱恒光、杭州書法家協會副主席葛德瑞、蘭亭書會常務副會長謝有才,浙江省書協有關方面負責人、書法家姚建杭、王自力以及諸暨市有關方面領導、書畫家代表何巨才、金海炯、許紹滿、楊建波、何滌非等。
正在北京開會的全國政協文史委副主任、浙江省政協原主席劉楓特地寄來一幅四尺整張書法作品,表示祝賀。
開幕式由《文化交流》雜志總編輯傅通先主持。
諸暨市副市長陳中在會上致辭說,諸暨人杰地靈,風光秀麗,這次書畫節是西施故里的又一文化盛事,是挖掘和傳承古越文化、豐富景區文化內涵的重要舉措,是加強對外文化交流、促進諸暨經濟和社會和諧發展的一個良好平臺。
中國書協副主席、浙江書協主席朱關田也在致詞中稱贊諸暨是一個書畫重地,古今出過像王冕、陳洪綬、余任天這樣的杰出書畫家,傳承這份文化遺產對發展諸暨的書畫事業十分重要。

Interaction between Art and Natural Beauty
On December 18, 2006, the launching ceremony of the 1st Xishi Hometown Calligraphy and Painting Festival was held at the ancient beauty’s hometown in Zhuji. The festival was co-sponsored by Zhuji Tourism Bureau and Cultural Dialogue.
Present at the ceremony were a galaxy of guests including government officials, calligraphers, painters, and journalists. Liu Feng, deputy director of the CPPCC Culture and History Research Committee and former president of Zhejiang People’s Political Consultative Conference, sent a calligraphic work for the occasion because he was attending an important national meeting in Beijing.
Fu Tongxian, editor-in-chief of Cultural Dialogue, presided at the opening ceremony. Chen Zhong, deputy mayor of Zhuji, made a speech at the ceremony. He said that Zhuji is hometown to many historical and modern personages and boasts beautiful sceneries. The calligraphy and painting festival was an important cultural event for the hometown of Xishi. The gala was part of the important measures to promote the ancient culture and enrich the cultural contents of local tourism attractions. The event would serve as a platform for intensifying cultural exchanges with foreign counterparts and boosting the harmonious development of local economy and social undertakings.
Zhu Guantian, deputy president of China Calligraphers’ Association and president of Zhejiang Calligraphers’ Association, also made a speech at the ceremony. He spoke highly of Zhuji as a place where many important calligraphers had played high-profile roles in the landscape of calligraphy in the past and present. He confirmed that the festival would contribute significantly to the development of the local tradition.
