Q：老師讓我們翻譯一個句子“雖然下著大雨，但是足球賽仍然繼續進行。”我翻譯為：Though it was raining hard, but the football match still went on.老師卻說我翻譯得不對，請問這是為什么呢？

A：“雖然下著大雨，但是足球賽仍然繼續進行。”這個句子翻譯起來需要用到讓步狀語從句，大家要注意，在讓步狀語從句中，用了though就無需再用but，這與漢語的“雖然……但是……”的用法有所不同。這個句子可以有以下兩種翻譯方法，大家要記牢喲！

Though it was raining hard, the football match still went on.

It was raining hard, but the football match still went on.

Q：下面這道選擇題，老師說正確答案是A，請問大嘴叔叔，為什么不選B呢？

—When do you go shopping?

—I usually go shopping ______ Sunday mornings.

A. on B. in C. at D. for

A：我們常常用in the morning表達“在早上”，但當指某一天的早上時，介詞必須用on，而不用in, 題中“每個星期天的早上我通常都去購物”，強調“星期天的早上”，故選A。

Q：在學習反意疑問句時，老師反復強調“前肯后否，前否后肯”，那為什么這個選擇題的正確答案會是C呢？

A：這里，我們要首先弄清楚hardly的含意。hardly意為“幾乎不”，相當于almost not, 表示否定。當前句有否定詞hardly, few, never等時，后面反意疑問句使用肯定形式，助動詞要與前句謂語動詞的時態和形式保持一致。

Q：老師上課時講到，英語中進行比較的兩個對象必須是同類事物或同性質的兩者，如A、B兩地的天氣比較時，就表達為the weather in A is ... than that in B. 但我做課外題時，有個句子“紅色籃子里的梨比黃色籃子的梨小”時，我的答案The pears in the red basket are smaller than that in the yellow basket.卻是錯的，請問我錯在哪里呢？

A：請注意兩個句子的主語。前者的主語是the weather in somewhere，主語為單數；后者的主語是the pears，in the red basket作定語修飾the pears，主語為復數，故正確的翻譯應該是The pears in ... than those in the yellow basket.。
