1. A long time ago there lived a king and a queen. They had no child， and they were unhappy. 從前有個國王和王后，他們一直沒有孩子，為此他們非常傷心苦惱。
2. One day， the queen was walking along the river. A fish raised its head and said，“You will soon have a daughter.” 有一天，王后正在河邊散步，一條小魚把頭浮出水面對她說:“不久你就會生下一個女兒的。”
3. After a period of time， the queen gave birth to a beautiful daughter. 過了一段時間，王后真的生下了一個非常漂亮的女兒。
4. The king was very happy， and he invited all the relatives and friends and nearly all the fairies of the kingdom to bless their daughter. 國王十分高興，他邀請了所有的親戚朋友和幾乎所有的女巫師，讓他們為他的女兒送來美好的祝愿。
