缺點

A wife came to her husband with a proposal， “I read in a magazine， a while ago， about how we can strengthen our marriage，” she offered. “Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then， we can talk about how we can fix them together and make our lives happier together.”

The husband agreed. So each of them went to a separate room in the house and thought of the things that annoyed them about the other. They thought about this question for the rest of the day and wrote down what they came up with.

The next morning， at the breakfast table， they decided that they would go over their lists.

“I’ll start，” offered the wife. She took out her list. It had many items on it， enough to fill 3 pages. In fact， as she started reading the list of the little annoyances， she noticed that tears were starting to appear in her husband’s eyes.

“What’s wrong?” she asked. “Nothing，” the husband replied， “keep reading your list.”

The wife continued to read until she had read all three pages to her husband. She neatly placed her list on the table and folded her hands over the top of it.

“Now， you read your list and then we’ll talk about the things on both of our lists，” she said happily.

Quietly the husband stated， “I don’t have anything on my list. I think that you are perfect the way that you are. I don’t want you to change anything for me. You are lovely and wonderful and I wouldn’t want to try and change anything about you.”

The wife， touched by his honesty and the depth of his love for her and his acceptance of her， turned her head and wept.

In life， there are enough times when we are disappointed， depressed and annoyed. We don’t really have to go looking for them. We have a wonderful world that is full of beauty， light and promise. Why waste time in this world looking for the bad， disappointing or annoying when we can look around us， and see the wondrous things before us?

妻子走近丈夫，提議說：“我剛才在雜志上看到一篇文章，說的是怎樣鞏固婚姻。”她說：“我們兩個人都各自把對方的小毛病列在一張紙上，然后我們商量一下怎樣解決，這樣能讓我們的生活更幸福。”

丈夫同意了。于是他們各自走向不同的房間去思考對方的缺點。那一天余下的時間里，他們都在思考這個問題，并且把他們想到的都寫下來。

第二天早上，吃早飯的時候，他們決定談談彼此的缺點。

“我先開始吧。”妻子說。她拿出她的單子，上面列舉了很多條，事實上，足足寫滿了三頁。當她開始念的時候，她注意到丈夫眼里含著淚花。

“怎么啦?”她問。“沒什么，”丈夫答道，“繼續念吧。”

妻子又接著念。整整三頁都念完之后她把單子整齊地放在桌上，兩手交叉放在上面。

“現在該你念了，然后我們談談列舉的缺點。”她高興地說。

丈夫平靜地說：“我什么也沒寫，我覺得像你這樣就很完美了，我不想讓你為我改變什么。你很可愛迷人，我不愿試著讓你改變。”

妻子被丈夫的誠實和對她深深的愛和接納感動了，她轉過頭去哭起來。

生命中我們有很多的失望，沮喪和煩惱，我們根本不需要尋找。我們美妙的世界充滿了美麗、光明、希望。但是，當我們放眼四周時，為什么浪費時間尋找不快，失望和煩惱，而看不到我們面前的美好事物呢？
