It is well known that the world we live in is getting worse because of the increasing environmental destruction.

As we can see， rivers are polluted by waste dumpted in them from factories and cities. It’s wrong to develop economy at the price of environmental damage. Instead， people should first realize the importance of environmental protection. Besides， factories should be banned from discharging enormous harmful chemicals into rivers without doing anything.

As with water pollution， air pollution is also a problem threatening the existence of mankind with more carbon dioxide added into the atmosphere. It would be better if people drive less and encourage others to do so.

With the environmental awareness strengthened and effective measures taken， we will surely achieve sustainable development.
