The Beauty of Colors in Oscar Wildes Words

摘 要：作為唯美主義運動的代表人物，奧斯卡。王爾德不僅服裝耀眼，談吐機智，特立獨行，而且他的文學作品也充滿了無限的美感。他的文字，無論是“夜鶯”還是“玫瑰”，無論是寫“道林。格雷”還是“莎樂美”，所有的意象都顯示出色彩上的五彩繽紛，使我們猶如置身文字花園之感。在此我將討論王爾德鮮明的文字給我們帶來視覺和感覺上的美感，使用其所帶來的藝術(shù)效果。

Abstract：As the leading figure of Aestheticism，Oscar Wilde is famous for his living style and his wonderful works.He wears bright clothes，speaks witty words，lives in his own way.Still，its full of beauty in his works.What he has written，no matter “nightingale ”or “rose”，“Dorian Gray”or “Solome”，all images shows gorgeous colors，making me feel that as if we were in the garden of words .Here the author wants to discuss the beauty of colors in Wildes distinct words，to our vision and feeling，and also，the wonderful effects it has made.

1.Introduction

The famous Irish writer Oscar Wilde is a powerful successor，advocate and practitioners of Aestheticism.To Wilde，the purpose of art was to guide life，and to do this it must concern itself only with the pursuit of beauty，disdaining morality.The paper will say something of the colors： pure beauty of colors，colors as the circumstance and the comparison of beauty makes beauty.Still，by seeing the beautiful words in his novels，we can find numerous pictures and characters that linger in the words，in his fairy tales，we can see a world of children that is so colorful and charming that we have nothing to say but beauty，in his poems，also flowers and colors，so we can feel the importance of colors in life and works .

2.Oscar Wildes Words to Our Vision and Feeling

2.1The effects that some Chinese writers makes by using words of colors

Just as we Chinese people like spring，the westerners like summer for it is such a pleasant season .May be because we can see green grass and colorful flowers，trees，blue sky and white clouds .Wilde is not a painter，but still a “painter.”He is a color addict，a master of using color .He loves the elegant white lilies，but also beautiful yellow sunflowers shining，not only enamored of the Italian Art Decoration of the gorgeous color，but also fascinated by Oriental art，colors，lines，Structure of the pure beauty of form.and his use of fine color in his works can be said to be influenced by Italian Renaissance，Venice Painting of bright colors，But also demonstrates the nineteenth century French impressionists School for the pursuit of light and color changes .Thus，in a sense Wilde is also a painter，his demonstration of the works is different from the ways of the other painters in the general way .

2.2 The features of Oscar Wildes words

As to words，every poem of Wilde is like a beautiful text adventure，freshness，splendor and whirling dance，sadness，joyfulness and flying wing.Oscar Wilde said in The implication is that the charm of art lies in forms.Indeed，the form in the hearts of aestheticism is supreme，form is everything.Wilde is also a form of belief，whether the call is in theory or practice.“Form”is a sought-after Oscar Wilde.He believes in the form from worship，and then emphasized the magic of creation in language .It is a novel that full if beauty and the Moral degradation.It reminds me of my Classical complex，a love fore the ancient beauty and dignity in the past，which haunt in my minds .

3.The wonderful effects his words have made

3.1 Creating a Sorrowful yet beautiful atmosphere

In the novel of Wilde”The Picture of Dorian Gray ”，the opening is permeated with a feeling of Aestheticism，we can see people there lead a elegant life for the description of the atmosphere “The studio was filled with the rich odor of roses，and when the light summer wind stirred amidst the trees of the garden there came through the open door the heavy scent of the lilac，or the more delicate perfume of the pink-flowering thorn.“ But can we think that the use of colors to describe the surroundings is a sharp contrast with the heros fate？The former is a charmingly classic，full of elegant sentiment.However，the latter is a kind of nothingness，which leads to a tragedy .He loses much for his pursuit of eternal youth.In the fairy tales of Oscar Wild”The self giant ”Garden is like a mirror in the text，illuminate the beauty and ugliness of human nature.When all the children play in the garden，the garden is full of energetic feeling that attracts us so much for its colorful flowers and plants .without the players，the garden is so lonely and it loses the colors.

3.2 depict the character with beauty of colors

Youth is gilded with the color of rose forever.About the appearence of Dorian Gray，we can see that he is a young man that “certainly wonderfully handsome，with his finely-curved scarlet lips，his frank blue eyes，his crisp gold hair.There was something in his face that made one trust him at once.”If he is not handsome，maybe this story would not develop and the theme would not be highlighted.He has also killed an innocent girl though it is not his intention.Yet this girl is like a pure flower.

Now，just suggesting a giant cold-blooded selfishness from the switch to the kind and generous In “Salome，”the creation，portrayal of Oscar Wilde is pay attention to color，the color is gorgeous vent in his pen，merged into a symphony of color.There are three colors of the theme，that is，white，black and red of the melody.The main theme in these three Mix and layout of，the Oscar Wilde is also distinctive.First，each character is associated with different colors，and different colors have different symbolic meaning.Wilde in the script Repeatedly emphasized that the White Salome.Salome played just like “the wind shake the daffodils”and “shining on the flowers，”“her feet silver flawless，”her face white，“ like a silver mirror reflected in a white rose inside ”，“ hands her white dove flying in the sky like a.white butterfly ”.Emphasizes again and again kept the white Salome，while the role of Oscar Wilde described by different characters to Salome Beauty and the moon hangs in the cold half-empty connected，more highlights Salome Chu Chen cold virtuous beauty.And Herod the color associated purple，yellow and red.“He drank three wines.Kind of like the shirt，like Caesar Yan Zi，”“Another yellow like gold”，the third wine “Red as blood”Caesar represents the right shirt，gold.

3.3The disillusionment of dream and love

Wilde revealed the relationship between art and life as one theme of the Aestheticism： life is ugly and art conquers life，art and beauty is eternal.Dorian in life is the speaker of life yet his picture of consciousness is getting older and uglier day after day .So he is afraid to see the tragedy of getting older.

To the predecessors of Literature for Young Children，tragedy has long been recognized the special aesthetic value of the tragedy and call for the child care enough to write some tragic example of the excellent work of literature，such as Andersens “Little Mermaid”“Little Match Girl ”，Oscar Wildes “Happy Prince ”and so on.In these works，although the last daughter of the sea changes into foam，The Little Match Girl “in the old frozen to death on New Years Eve，”The Happy Princes heart broke into two，the little mermaid，little girl，The Happy Prince - These good things have been destroyed，but not necessarily what they give negative effects of child care.Wilde once said，the ending of all love is disillusionment .Love and death are the forever theme of human beings，on one hand，it is love，and on the other hand，it is death.Many characters in Oscar Wilde ‘s works die for love.For example，In the picture of Dorian Gray，Sibyl die for the disillusionment of her pure love for Dorian Gray though the second does not have the same heart.

4.conclusion

Love and beauty are two precious objects many of us are pursuing，but who have the meaning of melancholy and aesthetic pursuit like Wilde and the characters under his words .Compared with the characters in Wildes works，we people or the lovely animals maybe seem a little bit common and dull，if our life is like a Black-White Tv，then all the people，images in Oscar Wildes life is like a colorful TV，thats the achievements of Wildes writing style and skills，many Chinese try to write in this way，but he did it in a perfect as if his words are having a mark.Beauty is a large word，to our feeling and vision，thats what we learn in his works，finding the beauty of colors in Wildes distinct words.
