There Is A KindOf Fleshy Plant

Maybe someone still dont know what succulent plants are， actually these plants have been very hot now！ These plants are called “pulpy plants” originally， as most of them are fleshy in appearance， enthusiasts begin to call them “fleshy plant” or “fleshy”. This plant contains a lot of water in its leaves and stems， they are very drought-tolerant， often mistaken as a desert plant as cactus. In fact， the fleshy plants known now contain more than 10 thousand speicies， including prickly pear and ball cactus

Tha native range of these plants are all over the world， mainly in the areas of enough sunshine such as desert， gobi desert， mountains， costal cliffs and so on. The fleshy plants have come into our lives long ago， such as the aloe vera is fleshy plant， which can not only be watched， but also be used in food， cosmetic， medical and other fields.

Some well-known plants： crab cactus， macrobian flower， witchford， swallows palm （yushu） and the purslane used to make dishes are all fleshy plants.

1， The Sunshine

Most fleshy plants love sunshine， giving them 5 hours of direct sunlight time everyday， the plants will be beautiful. If there is no such condition， a 2 hour sunlight every day is ok. Attention should be paid to the intensity of sunshine， the sunlight is strong in the spring and autumn transition， an appropriate shade is nedded. In addition， most fleshy plants at present are nurtured in the greenhouses， a gradual process is neede after taking them home. Otherwise they are easy to be sunburnt. Generally， the balcony in the south or a terrace is the most appropriate. Pay attention not to put your fleshy plant in front of a computer or beside the bed.

2， Ventilatiion

Environment

The air circulation is very important to fleshy plants. If the alpine fleshy plant stay in a closed environment， it will be in a state of sub-health， or even die. The air will circulate if opening the window， or using a small fan in the sweltering summer. Of course， you can plant them outdoor if conditions permit.

3，Temperature

The temperature most suitable for fleshy plants to grow is 15～25℃. When the temperature is higher than 35℃， some fleshy plants will enter a state of hibernation. Is the temperature is above 40℃， it will be very dangerous. You must find a way to make the air circulate， or the plants may suffocated to death. As the temperature is below 5℃ in winter， it will also stop growing. When the temperature reaches 0℃ or is below 0℃， the plants may be hurt or frozen to death.

4，Soil

Most fleshy plants like sandy soil. The first thing to do after buying them home is to examing the soil， if its yellow or black rotten soil， you should change them soon. The conventional ridging methods： 1 share of soft soil （peat soil， coconut chaff） 1 share of sand （coarse sand） 1：1. if there are some small shop burning honeycomb briquet around your home， go to pick up some and scrap them as coarse sand.

5，Watering

Watering is the most troublesome. At beginning， you can adopt the timing and quantitative way， water them once 5～7days in the spring and autumn， once 15～20 days in summer， and once 20～30 days in winter. Later you can change the watering way according to your own understanding of the plants. You can judge whether should watering by observing the state of plant. For example， the leaves become soft and fold are the informations of lacking water， you can supply a little water at this moment. Its important to avoid exposure after watering in the summer， for it is easy to make plant suffocated.
