蘇州站是一座集鐵路、城市軌道、城市道路交通換乘功能于一體的大型交通樞紐。它位于蘇州市老城北側的原火車站位置，采用高架站房形式，南北各設站房入口。旅客流向設計為上進下出形式，由高架層進站，自地下層出站。主站房地上2層，地下1層。

蘇州火車站的建筑設計結合蘇州古城風貌，試圖探索創作 “蘇而新”的建筑風格。建筑以菱形體為基本元素，形成賦有蘇州地方特色的屋頂菱形空間網架體系。站房入口處屋面出檐深遠，半室外的集散空間結合下沉廣場、綠地園林，把建筑和自然景觀相融合。在主站房兩側，圍繞多個內庭院組織了功能用房，營造出典雅的蘇州味道的空間氛圍。建筑以灰、白、栗3色為主，站房外墻采用栗色的金屬格柵幕墻，兩組菱型燈籠柱撐起大跨度屋架，既突顯現代建筑的恢弘氣勢，又給人以古樸靜謐之感。

The Suzhou Railway Station is a large traffic hub providing connections among railways, city rails and local road system. The building is located at the original site of the old Suzhou Train Station to the north of the old city center. The new station is elevated above the ground with entrances on both the north and south sides of the building. Passengers arrive in the upper level and exit from the lower level. The design of the station attempts to incorporate elements of the traditional Suzhou city and to fulfill demands of the 21st century, creating a "New Suzhou" style. The diamond form of the station's roof references to Suzhou's local truss system. The massive eaves at the entrances creates semi-outdoor circulation spaces; the sunken plazas and the gardens work together to integrate the building with the surrounding landscape. On both sides of the main hall, service spaces are organized around a series of courtyards, creating an elegant Suzhou-style spatial experience. The building's color palette mainly includes grey, white and maroon. The curtain walls are made of maroon metal gra Two groups of diamond-shaped lantern colum support the station's long-span truss structure the roof. Above the waiting halls, a continuous wh folded-plate ceiling presents a unique and unify motif. The design of the VIP rooms draws inspirat from the bright and elegant style of Suzhou's glori traditional gardens.
