A Brief Analysis on the Landscape Design and Application in Leisure Resorts

【Abstract】“Natural phenomena， as the interactional and dynamic development process， reflect various natural laws”. Leisure resorts， which integrate agritourism and locate in scenic suburbs and rural areas， offer not only pure natural green food， but beautiful scenery like a feast for eyes as well. The development of leisure resorts brings economic benefits for promoting rural tourism and regional economic construction， quickening process of agricultural marketalization. Whats more， it serves modern people by reflecting local， national and original ecological organic agriculture features.

Ⅰ. Overview

In todays word， Nowadays， as one of the dispensable parts of tourism， sightseeing agricultural tourism is becoming increasingly popular among tourists in developed countries or those with high growth in tourism. Since 1980s， with the rapid development of our country， leisure agricultural tourism of different forms has enjoyed high popularization and pastoral life has become an ideal life style.

In suburbs and rural areas in Beijing， Shanghai and Chengdu， “agritourism” has formed due scale with idyllic scenery， natural landscape， agricultural tourism resource， folk culture and surrounding scenic spots as tourism resources and accommodation， tourism consultation and sightseeing as service items. Labeling itself as “participating-experiencing-enjoying-tasting”， the landscape design in leisure resorts highlights the theme of being natural， simple and quiet to satisfy their psychological need of city dwellers to walk out of cities and get close to nature on holidays and weekends.

Unlike in other agri-ecological parks where people are treated as tourists or guest， here they can choose in what relationship they want to be with a farm village. They can be hardworking “gardeners” or “fishermen”； they can be hosts and hostesses enjoying life or even strangers passing by quickly. You enjoy the moment in the farm from beautiful natural scenery and others laughter from the heart bottom even without feeling or experiencing by themselves.

Ⅱ. Landscape design and application of in leisure resorts

（ⅰ） Reflection of landscape design in leisure resorts

The landscape design， combining rural tourism development， shall be performed with following four aspects： taking full advantage of beautiful natural environment， satisfying the needs of the whole urban consumer groups， exploiting strong local characteristics and experiencing real rural life.

Agritourism appeals to tourists if it offers modern life of peasants and local flavor in rural areas， which reflect original ecological beauty in tourist activities in farm villages. In the form of recreational activities， tourists can experience the tiredness and hard work by engaging in letting your horses and cattle graze grass， seeding and seedling， cultivating， loosing soil and weeding or taste the harvest joy by participating in agricultural production activities like picking up， reaping and tasting by your own. Rural natural culture resources with higher value， as a fresh process of experience， will inspire people to love labor， love life and love nature， so it is worth a try. Without these real things， tour motive and interest will greatly lower or even lose at all. Therefore， the natural original beauty is supposed to be vivid and authentic， which shall be found in farms rather than in museums.

（ⅱ） Research significance of landscape in leisure resorts

The villagers living standard will be improved and income will be enhanced after landscape design. More importantly， the village environment will be beautified by adjusting the former unreasonable layout to stress local characteristics and create rural landscape with local color. Natural landscape will not be destroyed because of ancient tress cutting so as to avoid extravaganza or luxury. At the same time， “rustic fun” and “wild fun” are running through the whole experience which will make you feel in a way that children do.

After field research， some farm villages are decorated as hotels just for level， which seems unnatural like the hotels in cities， thus losing the feeling of farm villages and original style. Therefore， the lost tour value and high cost make it unrealistic to travel in the farm villages. In order not to let the tourists down， local characteristics such as adobe kang or tiles shall be reserved with independent bathrooms and shower systems for comfort.

Whats more， indigenous plants can not only embody local flavor but follow the plant growth features as well. Importance shall be attached to the creation of cultural landscape by exploiting local historical figures， religious culture， national culture， life style and customs or even food culture. When combining with agriculture， the landscape will be flavored with profound meaning like a body with soul. Agritourism， integrating agricultural labor and sightseeing， makes both of them supplement each other in harmonious unification.

（ⅲ）Goal of landscape design in leisure resorts

By taking advantage of sound rural natural environmental conditions accompanied by resort facilities， leisure resorts can offer the tourists relaxation and fun and the pureness when they return to nature. In a more specific farm， the life space and surrounding fishponds， orchards， vegetable fields and woods can be used to add some other service projects like eating “peasant meals”， doing farm work， living as a peasant and enjoying rural life. To show the theme of rural simple characteristic， folk customs will be exhibited to the tourists from rural food， rural farmyard to cottage and folk decoration style combining rustic dance and entertaining to attract more to experience farm style.

During the overall designing process， the rule of “people-oriented” shall be obeyed to make natural and human elements harmonize with each other so as to provide favorable recreational environment in which tourists can relax， entertain and get close to nature. Through stressing the humanized awareness of design space and considering integrated layout， tourists can get the best convenience for relaxation， sightseeing， recreation and activities to experience the comfort from nature and increase participation and appreciation of the design. As to planning， tourists need shall be located and analyzed accurately. Considering the service radius of design space， ecological service of green space shall be provided by making tourists free from stress brought by urban life to fully reflect the significance and value of farms and resorts. By systematically studying the direction and development of design and mutual instruction of theory and practice， the ability to design thinking can be developed and improved so as to enhance ability in the professional field.

If the hustle and bustle in cities can be described as “routine”， the life in farms as “pureness”. It is reasonable that pureness objects to muddiness and disgusts “routine”. Chinese landscape painters and pastoral poets pursue and yearn for “pure life and world”. In other words， they cleanse their heart and limit their desires. For those living in the fast-paced society， stress in life and competition for survival have always troubled them. For those living in the cold reinforced concrete， it is an essential way to return to nature for relieving the pressure and relaxation， so harmonious and quiet farm life has become a luxury.

Farm resorts not only are suitable for consumer groups of different ages life office workers， the aged and children， but also drive the whole social industrial chain forward. While pursuing high level of life standard， people pay much attention to pursuing the feeling of recovering to original simplicity. They begin to realize that life without computers and games can be colorful. The aged enjoy the family reunion when they come to farms together with their offspring； children can experience rural life， increase knowledge and enrich their life by seeing our daily crops and plants， by running freely on the pebble roads rather than bituminous streets， by feeding animals， which will be of great help for their physical and mental growth. Tourists expectation and desire are fully taken into consideration.

（ⅳ） The application of landscape design in leisure resorts

Firstly， strong local flavor shall be reserved. Unlike some scenic spots or historical sites， farm resorts are supposed to combine countryside features and local culture to show modern new “farm house”. Recreational leisure entertainment here can make people feel the modern peasants life and rural local flavor.

Secondly， original ecological beauty shall be highlighted by taking rural specific natural scenery and agricultural resources within the region as tourism resources.

Thirdly， participation shall be enhanced by having accommodation and tourism at the same time.

Fourthly， high-class leisure and entertainment areas are added on the premise of keeping civilian. The main body of tourists is civilians in cities and towns based on working class and intellectuals emphasizing on life sentiments. In spite of diverse identities and occupations， they have something in common in income level and consumption orientation. As for the rich people who hope to escape the noisy city life， leisure areas in mountains are offered exclusively for them for retreat. In this way， the coverage of target group grows more comprehensive.

By combing the above applications and local special natural resources， woods and cobblestone with natural building materials can be used to form the overall space shaping. Other landscape planning layout are based on local terrain condition to divide fruit tree region， vegetable region and planting region by rational utilization of plains and lowlands and arrangement of temporary residence and high-end residence. The integrated planning are conducted by traditional design philosophy together with modern technique of expression， adding my own inspiration for the design scheme. That is， “practice is the sole criterion for testing truth”. By instructing and regulating ideas of design with practical experience and gradually blending my own design thoughts into design scheme， farm resorts forms in some peoples thoughts are changed and urbanization has got broken. By exploiting the most original form of farms and farm houses， the final needs to travel here shall be formed.

Ⅲ. Summary

“There are so many times when we forget to satisfy， to see the passing clouds， to stop to get moved by the scenery around”.

“After a long time in the cave， one needs to go back to nature”. Tao Yuanming blazed a trail of anti-city complexion. He takes cities as “cave” and rural areas as “home”. The so-called getting back to nature has something to do with inner heart.

Based on the feature of farm house， the landscape design of leisure resorts pays attention to integrity of landscape planning design by blending local special elements with partial design changed on the basis of following the whole style. It shall follow the idea of people-oriented， enrich the changes among layers， choose detail processing suitable for body figure and multiple changes in form.

Regardless of entertainment region， leisure region， playing region for children or sculpture， wood bridges， waters， vast areas of tree planting， the landscape will give a cozy feeling of “no disorderly sound or labor needs” and a total relaxation from the bottom of heart. Country yard space， fruit tree gardens and flowers regions are used to the maximum to maintain and stress the original farm flavor and to satisfy tourists needs by creating comfortable， romantic and exquisite dining environment. “Combining deploying and retracting” in plane modality and vertical multi-layer landscape elements help transform environment multi-sense of space so as to realize scientific harmonious and sustainable development.
