在英語閱讀理解中，選擇型閱讀主要考查學生在規定時間內快速閱讀英語短文，了解短文的主題思想，對文中信息進行分析、推理、判斷，把握上下文事實、細節之間的時空順序和邏輯關系、理解作者的意圖、態度以及文章寓意的能力。閱讀理解題的設問手法靈活、提問深入、語篇意識進一步加強。這不僅要求我們理解文章的字面意思，還要求我們理解其內在含義。選擇型閱讀理解的考查題型主要有四大類：細節理解題、推理判斷題、詞義推測題和主旨大意題。

技巧點撥

1.解答細節理解題的方法：快速掃讀，領悟大意，理解文章結構層次及其細節；認真審題，回扣原文，用尋讀法快速查找關鍵內容。

2.解答推理判斷題的方法：讀懂原文，抓住關鍵詞、短語、句子或段落，透徹理解文章內容，注意文章結構層次和邏輯關系，并結合閱讀材料外的有關生活、社會常識，仔細斟酌，做出準確的推斷和引申。

3.解答詞義猜測題的方法：我們可以根據同義詞或反義詞、定義或釋義、生活常識、構詞法、上下文邏輯關系、句法功能及語境等方法來猜測詞義。

4.解答主旨大意題的方法：我們可以于段首或段尾定位主題句、在文章中找出關鍵詞或歸納概括文章的中心思想來確定答案。

Teary Joe was a little boy.He could make himself cry in less than a second.When Joe wanted something or disliked something， he would cry.In this way， he got everything he wanted， because no one could resist his tearful face.

But one day， Joe met Pipo.Pipo was begging in the street for some money.Pipo was very poor， but he always had the biggest smile on his face.Joe decided to help Pipo.He got much money by crying.But Pipo refused his money.He said he preferred getting something by making an effort （努力）， because it was much more fun and interesting.
