I think it’s important to understand what the key attributes of cloud services are, and how one becomes defined as a cloud service provider. What’s important to know when you think about cloud services is that it has to be service-based; it has to be a service [whether it’s the provision of software, platform or infrastructure]. It has to be able to be metered, it has to be shared, it’s got to be scalable and somewhat elastic, and it has to be done through Internet-based technology. That’s how people think about cloud services. Without those attributes, you’re really not a cloud service provider.

PayPal reported its third-quarter earnings that met expectations but beat on revenue. The chief financial officer told the company is looking to give its consumers more choices. "We're trying to enhance the value proposition for our customers," he said. "and that includes both merchants that see higher conversion with PayPal experiences as well as our customers that have amenities like buyer and seller protection and free return shipping."

Hiring in London's financial industry dropped sharply and companies are keeping a tighter lid on costs following the UK's vote to leave the European Union, according to Hays Plc Chief Financial Officer Paul Venables."Business loves the magic wand called certainty and we have none of that now." The drop in the pound "is a sign of the uncertainty." The "eye of the storm" on Brexit has passed, the Hays CFO said, adding that uncertainty lingers about the types of trade deals the UK will be able to work out with the European Union and other blocs.
