Broadway Musical Kinky Boots

Charlie Price is the fourth-generation inheritor of Price & Sons, an old British shoe factory. Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots and save the business. In the process, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different after all. The theme is novel and interprets the power of friendship and belief with a relaxed and cheerful melody. The gorgeous costumes in the musical take the audience from a small shoe factory in Northampton into the runway of Milan.

The exhibits of this ukiyo-e special exhibition are carefully selected from thousands of Japanese ukiyo-e paintings,including over 200 classic ukiyo-e paintings from the rise of the ukiyo-e in the Edo era to the Meiji era. The audience can not only get to know the history of Japanese society development through the exhibits, that is, the fall of the aristocrat society and the rise of civil society, but also appreciate the lively, relaxed, and intense aspects of the civil society refl ected by the Ukiyo-e paintings.

The dance drama Red Sorghum basically preserves the original storyline of the novel and film,and shapes the images of “my grandfather”, “my grandmother”and individual figures such as uncle Luohan and fellow towns folks. And there are more original and intense interpretations in subtexts. Each of the six chapters of the bridal litter, the wild mating, the libation, the harvest,the slaughter, and the funeral has a distinctive theme, and tells a complete story about “vitality”, that is, the pursuit of love and free life of people living there.
