“絲綢古道漾簫笙…”“不盡天山萬古情”。兩千多年前，絲綢之路成為東方與西方的第一次歷史碰觸。如今，當絲路情懷成為人們再次出發尋求發展的共同需求，我們才驀然發現，“一帶一路”上，民心相通的種子已播撒開來。 今天，讓我們跟隨“一帶一路”沿線國家孔子學院的外方院長、理事長們，聽聽他們與“一帶一路”之間的故事！

我與中國的故事可追溯到60多年前。1957年，我的父親弗朗切斯科.拉瓦尼諾因對中國文化充滿興趣，與意大利著名導演里扎尼在中國拍攝了紀錄片《長城gt;。父親回國后，對我講述的見聞給我留下了深刻印象。從那時起，我開始了解這個當時外界感到神秘的國度。

上世紀70年代初，我有幸被選為意大利政府公派的意大利語教師，赴上海外國語學院（現為上海外國語大學）學習任教。之后，我一直從事和漢語以及中國文化相關的工作。2009年米蘭國立大學孔子學院成立后，我擔任了意方院長。

我是一名教育工作者，同時也是一名文化研究者。歷史上，古絲綢之路為東西方提供了文化交流的機會。歐亞大陸的智慧和文明通過古絲綢之路實現了交流互鑒。今天，從“一帶一路”建設中，我看到這條國際大通道給文化繁榮帶來新的活力和機會。

在米蘭國立大學孔子學院本部，加上下設的4個孔子課堂和12個漢語教學點，共有3300多名學生。米蘭所在的倫巴第大區共有43所學校把漢語列入必修課程。越來越多的意大利民眾對中國悠久燦爛的歷史文化充滿興趣，開始學習漢語，也有越來越多的人到中國學習和工作。“一帶一路”建設為我們兩國提供了新的溝通方式和合作平臺。

自2016年開始，米蘭國立大學孔子學院每年都會舉行“一帶一路”合作研討會。未來，我們會借助這條黃金通道繼續致力于意中兩國更深層次的文化交流，尋求對話創新交流模式。“一帶一路”建設給意中兩國文化交流創造了前所未有的黃金時代，東西方文化上的交流和民心上的溝通，也必將給“一帶一路”建設注入更強的生命力。

在吉爾吉斯斯坦，漢語成為一門越來越熱的學科，隨著中國和吉爾吉斯斯坦的經濟、文化交往增多，越來越多吉爾吉斯斯坦人把漢語作為很重要的外語來學習。他們認為，學習漢語不僅僅是因為興趣，而是一種技能，為將來的工作提供了更多的機會和選擇。

孔子學院作為奧什國立大學培養中吉友好人才的平臺，全力支持在奧什國立大學5個院系建成漢語教學點，并支持奧什人文師范學院、奧什工業大學建成孔子課堂。現在，奧什國立大學孔子學院已經成為“以培養中吉友好的各類專業人才為目標、以本科教育為核心”的中吉文化交流和人才培養綜合平臺。

為加強與中國高校合作、加快中吉教育文化交流，我們還申請奧什國立大學加入了“上海合作組織大學聯盟…‘一帶一路高校聯盟”，并利用孔子學院平臺與中國的新疆師范大學、新疆醫科大學、北京語言大學、上海華東師范大學、清華大學、北京外國語大學等高校建立了良好的合作關系。

這些年我們也舉辦了“共建絲綢之路經濟帶及其對周邊國家經濟影響”國際會議，“和諧共處，創造未來”絲綢之路文化國際論壇。邀請亞、歐、美多國學者、吉爾吉斯斯坦政要、使領館官員、文化名人就“一帶一路”相關國家經濟、文化、教育等方面合作進行學術研討。奧什國立大學孔子學院“中亞本土漢語教師碩士學歷培訓中心…‘一帶一路區域研究中心”也在建設中，建成后也將會為吉中兩國文化交流打開另一番局面。

2013年9月和10月，中國國家主席習近平在訪問哈薩克斯坦和印度尼西亞時，首次提出建設絲綢之路經濟帶和二十一世紀海上絲綢之路的倡議。如今，“一帶一路”倡議的參與國家越來越多，給世界各國人民帶來越來越多的實惠。我認為，共建“一帶一路”的前景將更加光明燦爛。

“一帶一路”倡議是獨特的，兼具包容性和開放性。它將不同國家之間的合作發展機制對接起來。比如“一帶一路”倡議就與埃及“2030愿景”以及非盟《2063年議程》實現了有機對接，埃及乃至非洲都可以從共建“一帶一路”的過程中獲得新的發展機遇。

參與共建“一帶一路”沒有任何附加條件。中國強調尊重不同國家各自發展道路和社會制度，尊重彼此核心利益和重大關切。“一帶一路”倡議實際上為不同地區、不同國家之間搭建起經濟合作、共同發展的橋梁。它旨在造福各國、改善世界經濟，同時在加強全球化、促進區域合作、合力應對氣候變化、共同打擊恐怖主義等領域，提供了創造性的解決方案。

埃及是“一帶一路”建設的受益者。埃及近幾年取得的成就，尤其是經濟改革、安全穩定以及短期內實施的一系列重大國家發展項目等，莫不得益于“一帶一路”建設。在“一帶一路”框架下，埃中已提升為全面戰略伙伴關系。

據悉，目前在埃及的中國公司達1000余家，為埃及年輕人創造了3萬多個就業崗位。埃中蘇伊士經貿合作區里有至少50家中國工廠，包括世界上規模最大的纖維生產廠——巨石公司等。從這里生產的產品遠銷海外，為埃及創匯增收，使埃及國家、民眾從中受益。

“一帶一路”倡議把中國與阿拉伯國家、中國與非洲、中國與世界聯系得更加緊密。共建“一帶一路”是構建人類命運共同體的偉大實踐。隨著時間的推移和眾多項目有條不紊地深入實施，這一倡議的重要性及其惠及世界各國的現實針對性愈發得到凸顯。

如果有人問，“一帶一路”建設給肯尼亞帶來的改變是什么，我會請他看看連接首都內羅畢和港口城市蒙巴薩的蒙內鐵路。這條中國幫助建造的現代化鐵路被肯尼亞人民稱為“世紀鐵路”。它大大縮短了兩個城市間的通行時間，帶來的是物資運輸的便捷，為肯尼亞經濟的騰飛打下基礎。

我還會再讓他看看，內羅畢大學的畢業生們正積極投身到“一帶一路”建設中去。孔子學院培養的當地學生進入中國企業，成為肯中之間溝通的橋梁。特別值得一提的是，蒙內鐵路的火車司機、技術人員和職員中有許多來自內羅畢大學孔子學院的學生。在不到兩年的時間里，他們成為骨干力量，有的甚至被我們總統稱為“國家驕傲”，他們是“一帶一路”上閃亮的名片。

“一帶一路”建設搭建了跨越國界、實現相互理解的友好之橋，讓中國人民和其他國家人民能夠緊密合作，實現心與心的連接。遍布世界各地的孔子學院正是很好的例證。

以我所在的內羅畢大學孔子學院為例，自2005年孔子學院揭牌以來，在這里學習漢語的人數至今累計超過1.5萬人。從大學生、商務人士到政府人員，大家都迫切地希望學好中文，了解中國文化，以便和中國建立更緊密的聯系。

事實證明，參與“一帶一路”合作讓非洲國家獲得更多發展機遇。中國和眾多非洲國家合作，通過建設公路、鐵路、港口以及機場等基礎設施，支持非洲國家發展經濟。像蒙內鐵路這樣的工程正在從肯尼亞西部延伸，穿過烏干達，并繼續前往其他非洲國家。

同中國的合作讓非洲等地區經濟社會獲得了實實在在的發展，“一帶一路”建設讓所有參與國家受益，這是“一帶一路”參與國家共同努力的動力和共享機遇的最佳方式。中國在幫助非洲國家更好地開放，實現更好的聯通。在“一帶一路”框架下，中國和非洲國家為了共同發展而共同努力。

Over two thousand yearsago， the Silk Road became thefirst historical connection betweenthe East and the West. Nowadays，when the feelings of Silk Roadhave again become people's com-mon demand to seek development，we have suddenly realized that theseeds of people-to-people bondshave been already spread along theBelt and Road Initiative.

Today， let's follow the foreigndirectors and chairpersons of theConfucius Institutes in the coun-tries along the route to get near tothe story between them and theBelt and Road Initiative！

\"Let Each Other EmbraceBetter Development Opportu-n ities\"

My story with China can dateback more than 60 years. In 1957，my father Francesco Lavagnino wasrather interested in Chinese cultureand he co-filmed the documentaryThe Great Wall with the famousItalian director Carlo Lizzani inChina. After my father returnedto Italy， I was deeply impressedby his narration of the experiencein China. Since then， I began toknow about the counrry whichremained mysterious to the outsideworld back then.

In the early 1970s， I was luckyenough to be selected as an Italianteacher sponsored by the Italiangovernment and went to learn andteach at Shanghai InternationalStudies College （now known asShanghai International Studies Uni-versity） . After that， I have been en-gaged in relevant work of Chineselanguage and Chinese culture. Afterestablishing the Confucius Instituteat the University of Milan in 2009，I served as the Italian director.

I am both an educator and acultural researcher. Historically，the ancient Silk Road provided anopportunity fo r cultural exchangesbetween the East and the Westand the wisdom and civilizationof Eurasia has been exchanged andlearned from each other throughthe ancient Silk Road. Currently，from the construction of the Beltand Road Initiative， I have wit-nessed the new vitality and oppor-tunities to achieve cultural prosper-ity brought by this internationalchannel.

There are more than 3，300students at the Confucius Instituteof the University of Milan andits 4 Confucius Classrooms and12 teaching sites. A total of 43schools in the Lombardia regionwhere Milan is located have list-ed Chinese language as a com-pulsory course. More and moreItalian people become interestedin China's long and splendidhistory as well as its culture， andare beginning to learn Chineselanguage. In addition， more andmore people come to Chinafor study and work. The con-struction of the Belt and RoadInitiative has bestowed the twocountries with new ways of com-munication and cooperation.

Since 2016， the ConfuciusInstitute at the University ofMilan has held a seminar of thecooperation under the Belt andRoad Initiative every year. In thefuture， we will continue to workon the deeper cultural exchangesbetween Italy and China andseek an innovative dialogue andcommunication model withthis golden channel. The con-struction of the Belt and RoadInitiative has created an unprec-edented golden age for culturalexchanges between Italy andChina. The cultural exchangesbetween the East and the Westas well as the people-to-peoplebonds and communication willalso inject more vitality into theconstruction of the Belt andRoad Initiative in turn.

\"To Usher in a New Chapterfor Cultural Exchanges Be-tween Kyrgyzstan and China\"

In Kyrgyzstan， Chinese lan-guage has become an increasinglypopular subject. As the economicand cultural exchanges betweenChina and Kyrgyzstan get morefrequent， more and more Kyrgyzpeople learn Chinese as a veryimportant foreign language. Theybelieve that learning Chinese is notj ust out of their interest， but a skillthat can bring more opportunitiesand choices for their future work.

As a platform for cultivatingfriendly talents between Chineseand Kyrgyzstan， the ConfuciusInstitute at Osh State Universityfully supports the establishment ofthe teaching sites in five facultiesof Osh State University， and theestablishment of Confucius Class-rooms in Osh Humanities Peda-gogical Institute （OGPI） and theOsh Technological University. Atpresent， the Confucius Institute atOsh State University has become acomprehensive platform for Chi-na-Kyrgyzstan cultural exchangesand talent cultivation with the goalof cultivating China-Kyrgyzstanfriendship-oriented professionalsand taking undergraduate educa-tion as the core.

In order to strengthen thecooperation with Chinese collegesand universities and accelerate theeducational and cultural exchangesbetween China and Kyrgyzstan， wealso applied for Osh State Univer-sity to join the \"University Allianceof Shanghai Cooperation Organi-zation\" and \"University Allianceof the Belt and Road\". Relying onthe Confucius Institute， Osh StateUniversity has also establishedgood cooperative relations withChina's colleges and universitiessuch as Xinjiang Normal Univer-sity and Xinjiang Medical Univer-sity， Beijing Language and CultureUniversity， East China NormalUniversity （Shanghai）， TsinghuaUniversity， Beijing Foreign StudiesUniversiry etc.

Over the years， we have alsoheld the International Confer-ence on \"Jointly Construcing theSilk Road Economic Belr and theImpact on the Economic Develop-ment of Neighboring Countries\"and the Itternational Forum onSilk Road Culture \"Seeking Har-monious Coexistence and Creatingthe Future\". We have also invitedscholars from Asia， Europe andthe United States， Kyrgyzstanpoliticians， embassy and consu-late officials， cultural celebritiesto conduct academic discussionson economic， cultural and educa-tional cooperation in the countriesrelated to the Belt and Road Initia-tive. The \"Training Center for theMaster's Degree of Central AsianNative Chinese Language Teachers\"and the \"Regional Research Centerof the Belt and Road Initiative\" ofthe Confucius Institute at Osh StateUniversity are also under construc-tion. After establishment， they willopen another situation for the cul-tural exchanges between Kyrgyzstanand China.

Even Brighter Prospect ofJoint Construction of the Beltand Road Initiative

In September and October 2013，Chinese President Xi Jinping firstproposed the initiative of construct-ing the Silk Road Economic Beltand the 2lst Century Maritime SilkRoad when visiting Kazakhstan andIndonesia. At present， more andmore countries are participating inthe Belt and Road Initiative andthis brings more and more benefitsto people around the world. It is be-lieved that the prospect of the jointconstruction of the Belt and RoadInitiative will be even brighter.

The Belt and Road Initiative isunique with both inclusiveness andopenness. It connects the coop-erative development mechanismsamong different countries. For ex-ample， the Belt and Road Initiativehas achieved an organic connectionwith Egypt Vision 2030 and the AUAgenda 2063. Egypt and even Africaat large can gain new developmentopportunities from the process of thejoint construction of the Belt andRoad Initiative.

There are no other conditions at-tached to the joint construction ofthe Belt and Road Initiative. Chinaemphasizes the respect for the devel-opment paths and social systems ofdifferent countries as well as the coreinterests and major concerns of oneanother. The Belt and Road Initia-tive actually builds a bridge for theeconomic cooperation and commondevelopment among different regionsand countries. It aims to benefit coun-tries and improve the world economy，while providing creative solutions inthe areas of strengthening globaliza-tion， p romoting regional cooperation，jointly tacking the problem of climatechange and combating terrorism.

Egypt is the beneficiary of theconstruction of the Belt and RoadInitiative. The achievements of Egyptin recent years all benefit from theconstruction of the Belt and RoadInitiative， especially a series of ma-jor national short-term developmentprojects implemented in the field ofeconomic reform， security and stabil-ity. Under the framework of the Beltand Road Initiative， the Egypt-Chinarelations have been promoted to acomprehensive strategic partnership.

It is reported that there are currentlymore than l，000 Chinese companiesin Egypt， creating more than 30，000jobs for young Egyptians. There areat least 50 Chinese factories in theEgypt-China Suez Economic andTrade Cooperation Zone， includ-ing the world's largest fiber pro-duction plant， China Jushi GroupCo，. The products produced hereare exported to overseas countries，increasing income for Egypt'sforeign exchange earnings andbenefiting Egypt and its people.

The Belt and Road Initiativehas brought a closer connectionbetween China and the Arabcountries， China and Africa， andChina and the outside world. Thejoint construction of the Belt andRoad Initiative is a great prac-tice in building a community ofshared future for mankind. Withthe eclipse of time and the steadyprogress of numerous projects， theimportance of this initiative andits practical focus on benefitingcountries around the world willbecome increasingly prominent.

If anyone asks me what changesthe construction of the Belt andRoad Initiative has brought toKenya， I will invite him to lookat the Mombasa-Nairobi Railwayconnecting the capital Nairobi andthe port city of Mombasa. Thismodern railway that China helpedto construct was called the \"centuryrailway\" by the Kenyan people. Ithas greatly shortened the transit timebetween the two cities， bringingco nvenience of material transporta-tion and laying a foundation for theeconomic development of Kenya.

I will also guide him to see thatthe graduates of the Universityof Nairobi are actively participat-ing in the construction of the Beltand Road Initiative. Local studentstrained by Confucius Institutes haveentered Chinese enterprises andserved as a bridge of communica-tion between Kenya and China. It isparticularly worth mentioning thatmany of the train drivers， techniciansand staff of the Mombasa-Nairobiare from the Confucius Institute atthe University of Nairobi. In lessthan two years， they have becomebackbone forces. Some have evenbeen called \"national pride\" by thePresident of Kenya and they areshining name cards on the Belt andRoad Initiative.

The construction of the Belt andRoad Initiative has built a bridgeof friendship that crosses nationalborders and achieves mutual un-derstanding， enabling the Chinesepeople and the people of othercountries to work closely together toachieve a heart-to-heart connection.The Confucius Institutes around theworld are a good example.

I would like to take the ConfuciusInstitute at the University of Nairobiwhere I am working as an example.Since the unveiling of the ConfuciusInstitute in 2005， the number ofpeople studying Chinese languagehere has so far exceeded 15，ooo.People from college students， busi-nessmen to government officials areall eager to learn Chinese languageand understand Chinese culture inorder to establish closer ties withChina.

Facts have proved that participat-ing in the cooperation of the Beltand Road Initiative has enabledAfrican countries to gain moredevelopment opportunities. Chinaworks with many African countriesand supports them in developingtheir economies by building infra-structure such as roads， railways，ports and airports. The projects likethe Mombasa-Nairobi Railway areextending from western Kenya， pass-ing through Uganda and conrinuingto head to other African countries.

The cooperation with China hasenabled the economic and social de-velopment in Africa and other regionsto achieve tangible development. Theconstruction of the Belt and RoadInitiative will benefit all participatingcountries and this is the impetus forthem to make concerted efforts andthe best way to share opportunities.China is helping African countries tobe more open and achieve better con-nectivity. Under the framework of theBelt and Road Initiative， China andAfrican countries are working togetherfor common development.
