Ｓｋｙ ｏｆ Ｊｕｎｅ

In the sky of June， dark clouds cleared up like a blast of smoke. But the moon， remained there， high up in the sky， undergoing the metempsychosis of eclipse.

While the gorgeousness， given off by the neon lights and searchlights of the city， penetrating through the silvery light， the first quarter moon backed on the black night， smiling， watched a gang of kids went out of a KTV with hands supporting each other.

We were a so-called group who had good grade. There were various poems， odes and N kinds of solutions to a math problem. Achieving what we had wished， the sky of July is a perfect clear sky.

And then we came to the street not seen by us for a long time， to look for the indulger which we had lost.

After one-day craziness， we left our natural and unrestrained silhouettes in every corner of the urban， from the time when the moon went home to the time when it was pasted to the night again.

Standing out of the KTV and attacked by a blast of hot wave， I looked up into the sky，“First Quarter Moon”. The moon didn’t seem bright in the non-night sky of urban， but she did， smile to me.

Unconsciously， attested by the first quarter moon， was the faith made by some friends before they went home: write the same application to the current school and still be friends in high school. She was smiling none the less and thought of the first quarter moon in last metempsychosis...

The so-called“black June”heard in Junior 1 and 2 was now so real， so close. Without rhyme or reason， there were less people in the class. Because of a sudden cerebral hemorrhage， one departed from us and departed from the high school entrance examination. We did not get into sorrow; we had never been happy. Four relaxed at home because of rash and some who caught a cold had to be quarantined in that very period. There was no piece of wind in the sky of April.

The more desolate classroom seemed much opener than it had been before， however we got along with every other classmate better than ever. No one wanted to touch that sensitive nerve. The former unhappiness was no longer worth to be mentioned. The examination papers were examining our patience day after day. We accepted one and another examination paper and finished one and another， with a perfectly wonted heart. Those who had“stepped into the society in advance”did not make noise in class any more. On the contrary， they sat in the back of classroom silently， playing cells， watching magazines and eating chicken legs—they had chosen a road of their own. And we were still waiting in the dark， staring the yellow sands on the road， training our horses until June when to duel with ourselves.

The air in the period of SARS was full of the smell of disinfector. Even the moon was wearing a flu mask. I was not sure if the harmonic ambience in class had anything to do with the fight against SARS carried throughout all the country.

Nervousness was the theme of life. We were like a dead volcano which was filled with magma but would never burst. It was said that， people in“black June”is extremely nervous and will care for a tiny matter， but we were really different. Language was not needed. No matter what the matter was， we felt the same sense. We could bear the annoyance and friction limitlessly and would never apply it on others.

Resembling every fairy tale with an ending“from then on， the prince and princess had been living a happy life”， the high school entrance examination with the smell of disinfector came at last and went at last.

Looking up again， the first quarter moon had passed metempsychosis once again， besprinkling her silvery light onto the admission notice. Six out of eight kids， achieving as they had wished， stayed in the current school; one went to another and one went to Singapore. They would not complain but pray， pray the moons of others also shining.

The first quarter moon， smiling， waited for the next metempsychosis.
