（1）作“用途”講，是可數(shù)名詞。

（2）作“使用;效用”講，是不可數(shù)名詞。多用于固定短語中：

The cell phone is of great use.

② make （good/full） use of （好好/充分）利用

We should make full use of every minute in order to learn English well.

She washed her face with cold water.

3. —What are you doing？

你正在做什么？

—Im watching TV.

我正在看電視。

watch，look，see，read這四個(gè)詞的區(qū)別：

（1）watch意為“觀看;注視”，強(qiáng)調(diào)“看”的過程，指長時(shí)間看某一活動(dòng)的場面，如：看電視、比賽、表演，賞月等。

He likes watching TV.

他喜歡看電視。

（2）look強(qiáng)調(diào)發(fā)出“看”的動(dòng)作，是一個(gè)不及物動(dòng)詞，后接賓語時(shí)需加介詞at。

Look！ There is a boy under the tree.

看！樹下有一個(gè)男孩。

（3）see強(qiáng)調(diào)“看”的結(jié)果，指看見還是沒看見，也指看電影（see a movie）、看?。╯ee a doctor）。

I can see some birds in the tree.

我能看見樹上有幾只鳥。

（4）read意為“看;讀”，其賓語常是有文字的“書、報(bào)、雜志”等。

He is reading a book.

他正在看書。

4. drink tea

喝茶

（1）drink ?v. ?喝

Marys parents drink tea after dinner.

瑪麗的父母在晚餐后喝茶。

（2）drink ?n. ?飲料

They sell soft drinks only.

他們只賣不含酒精的飲料。

GRAMMAR FOcuS

現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)

（1）現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)表示現(xiàn)在正在進(jìn)行的動(dòng)作，有時(shí)也可表示現(xiàn)階段正在進(jìn)行的動(dòng)作。

Look！ They are playing football.

看！他們正在踢足球。

Im watching the book these days.

最近我正在看這本書。

（2）現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)的結(jié)構(gòu)：be + v.-ing。其中be（am，is，are）動(dòng)詞的形式要和主語保持一致。

They are playing chess.

他們正在下國際象棋。

（3）v.-ing形式的構(gòu)成

① 一般情況下，在動(dòng)詞原形后直接加-ing。

do—doing buy—buying

② 以不發(fā)音的字母e結(jié)尾的動(dòng)詞，去掉e，再加-ing。

have—having dance—dancing

③ 以重讀閉音節(jié)結(jié)尾的動(dòng)詞，末尾只有一個(gè)輔音字母時(shí)，雙寫這個(gè)輔音字母，再加-ing。

swim—swimming stop—stopping

shop—shopping get—getting

（4）現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)的基本句型

① 肯定句：主語 + be + v.-ing + 其他.

She is washing the clothes now.

② 否定句：主語 + be + not + v.-ing + 其他.

She isnt washing the clothes now.

③ 一般疑問句：be + 主語 + v.-ing + 其他？

—Is she washing the clothes now？

—Yes， she is. / No， she isnt.

④ 特殊疑問句：疑問詞 + be + 主語 + doing （+ 其他）？

—What is she doing？

—She is washing the clothes now.
