Robot Teachers 機器人教師

If you think of the jobs robots could never do， you would put doctors and teachers at the top of the list. Its easy to think of robot cleaners and factory workers， but some jobs need peoples special ability1. But are we right about? what robots can do？ Sometimes， they already do better than doctors. Also， some patients2 might feel better sharing personal3 things with a machine than a person. Could there be a place for robots in education4 after all？

如果想想機器人永遠做不到的工作，你可能會把醫生和老師放在首位。很容易想到機器人清潔工和工廠工人，但有些工作需要人特有的能力。但我們是否低估了機器人的能力？有時候，他們已經比醫生表現得更好。而且有些患者可能會覺得，與機器共享個人信息比與人共享更好些。那機器人在教育方面會有一席之地嗎？

British education expert5 Anthony Seldon thinks so. And he even has a date for the robot takeover6 of the classroom： 2027. He says robots will do the main job of transferring7 information and teachers will be like assistants8. Intelligent9 robots will read students faces， actions and maybe even brain. Then they will match the information of each student.

英國教育專家安東尼·塞爾登就是這么想的。他甚至還有一個機器人接管教室的日期：2027年。他預測，機器人將承擔傳遞信息的主要工作，教師將像助手一樣。智能機器人可以讀取學生的臉、動作甚至大腦信號，然后根據每個學生調整信息。

A robot teacher is better than no teacher at all. In some parts of the world， there arent enough10 teachers and 9～16% of children under the age of 14 dont go to school. That problem could be partly solved11 by robots because they can teach anywhere and wont get stressed12， or tired， or move somewhere for an easier， higher-paid job.

但機器人老師總比沒有老師好。在世界上某些地區，教師人手不足，9%～16%的14歲以下兒童輟學。機器人可以部分解決這個問題，因為它們可以在任何地方教書，不會感到壓力、疲勞，也不會為了一份更輕松、薪水更高的工作而離開。

Those bad things of teaching are something everyone knows. Teachers all over the world are leaving because it is a difficult job and they feel overworked. Maybe the question is not “Will robots replace teachers？” but “How can robots help teachers？” Office workers can use software to do things like answer e-mails and hold meetings. Teachers spend a lot of time doing non-teaching work， including more than 11 hours a week marking homework. If robots could cut the time teachers spend marking homework and writing reports， teachers would have more time for the parts of the job people do best.

教學方面的那些負面消息是每個人都知道的。全世界的教師都在減少，因為這是一項困難的工作，他們感到工作過量。或許問題不是“機器人會取代教師嗎？”而是“機器人如何幫助教師？”辦公室工作人員可以使用軟件來做一些事情，如回復電子郵件和安排會議。老師們在非教學工作上浪費了很多時間，包括每周花超過11個小時批改作業。如果機器人能夠減少教師批改作業和寫報告的時間，那教師將有更多的時間來完成人類最擅長的那部分工作。
