點(diǎn)破“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”之“點(diǎn)”

提及“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”，大多數(shù)人立刻會(huì)聯(lián)想到相關(guān)搭配“經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”;而對(duì)習(xí)慣于見到漢語(yǔ)即思考英文的人來(lái)說(shuō)，馬上會(huì)考慮其英語(yǔ)對(duì)應(yīng)的說(shuō)法。個(gè)別手潮譯者恐怕還會(huì)不假思索地想到growth point。英語(yǔ)中固然有此表述，但它并非我們所謂的“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”，英文中的growth point釋義為：A Growth Point is a technical term in cognitive linguistics and gesture research. It refers to the earliest beginnings of a spoken utterance in the mind of a speaker， combining the beginnings of a mimetic gesture with the preliminary verbal expression of the persons thought. 可見該短語(yǔ)是認(rèn)知語(yǔ)言學(xué)術(shù)語(yǔ)。那么，漢語(yǔ)中的“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”到底該如何表述呢？

《牛津英語(yǔ)詞典》網(wǎng)絡(luò)版對(duì)growth area有如下解釋：A commercial field that is developing rapidly.

隨后提供了例證：

E-commerce is the biggest growth area for the company.

One of the biggest growth areas for tech companies has been in new identity cards.

《習(xí)近平談治國(guó)理政》的英文版多處采用了這一譯法，例如：

1. 原文：創(chuàng)造新的經(jīng)濟(jì)和就業(yè)增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)

但在其他語(yǔ)境下，譯者也采取了靈活處理，比如：

1. 原文：把能源技術(shù)及其關(guān)聯(lián)產(chǎn)業(yè)培育成帶動(dòng)我國(guó)產(chǎn)業(yè)升級(jí)的新增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)

譯文：transform our energy technology and related industries into a new pow-erhouse to drive the overall industrial upgrading of our country

點(diǎn)評(píng)：漢語(yǔ)語(yǔ)境下，“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”很多時(shí)候?qū)嵵浮敖?jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的動(dòng)力或引擎”，因而，powerhouse或者growth engine都是很好的選項(xiàng)。再如：中國(guó)新的增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)Chinas new growth engine。

2. 原文：“機(jī)器人革命”有望成為“第三次工業(yè)革命”的一個(gè)切入點(diǎn)和重要增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)。

譯文：The Third Industrial Revolution would be a “robot revolution”.

點(diǎn)評(píng)：在這里，譯者采用意譯手法，直接忽略了“切入點(diǎn)”“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”等具體措辭，用英語(yǔ)直接表明了“機(jī)器人革命”在“第三次工業(yè)革命”中的重要地位。這再次說(shuō)明，高明的譯者有膽有識(shí)、無(wú)拘無(wú)束。

除了上述處理方式，有些情況下，也可以考慮使用growth industry表示“增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)”，《牛津英語(yǔ)詞典》網(wǎng)絡(luò)版有如下例句：
