2019年12月的大學英語四級考試的三道作文題目要求考生給外國朋友寫一封信，本題要求向外國朋友推薦一所學習漢語的大學。書信體作文首先講究格式正確，大學英語四、六級考試的書信不用寫信內地址和日期，從稱呼開始寫起即可。由于這是一封寫給朋友的私人信函，可以直呼其名。比如，我們假設這位朋友的名字叫Andy，稱呼就可以寫Dear Andy。

書信的正文一般寫三段。第一段先略微寒暄一下，如很高興收到對方的來信等，接著交代寫這封信的目的——要向對方推薦一所學習漢語的大學。第二段先向朋友推薦一所大學——北京語言文化大學，然后陳述推薦的理由。為了使這篇作文的字數達到規定要求，我們要把推薦的理由略作展開。第一，北京語言文化大學是國內唯一的一所專門向外國學生提供中國語言和文化課程的大學。該校師資力量雄厚，具有幾十年的教外國學生學漢語的經驗。第二，在這所大學里可以遇見來自世界各國的學習漢語的同學，你可以和他們一起切磋。第三段是一些客套話，如希望朋友覺得自己的推薦有用，希望早日收到回信，期待早日見面等。

正文下面是署名。署名一般寫在信紙的中間偏右的位置，分兩行書寫，上下對齊。由于這是一封寫給朋友的信，上一行可寫Yours truly（或Truly yours），假設你叫李明，下一行寫Li Ming。下面請看參考范文：
