Efficacy of Zishen Jiangtang Pill combined with alendronate sodium on senile diabetic osteoporosis and its impacts on the levels of serum B-ALP，OC，β-CTX and OPG

[Abstract] Objective To investigate the efficacy of Zishen Jiangtang Pill combined with alendronate sodium on senile diabetic osteoporosis （DOP） and its impacts on the levels of serum B-ALP， OC， β-CTX and OPG. Methods A total of 74 senile patients with DOP admitted to our hospital from March 2018 to April 2020 were collected， and they were divided into the control group and the observation group with 37 cases in each group according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with alendronate sodium on the basis of the conventional hypoglycemic therapy， while the observation group was treated with Zishen Jiangtang Pill on the basis of the control group. The blood glucose， bone mineral density （BMD） of femoral neck， therapeutic efficacy， bone metabolism index and adverse reactions （ADRs） were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment，F(xiàn)PG and 2 hPPG of the two groups both decreased，and BMD of femoral neck both increased. Meanwhile，F(xiàn)PG and 2 hPPG in the observation group were lower and BMD of femoral neck was higher than those in the control group，with statistically significant differences（P<0.05）. The total effective rate of the observation group was 94.59%， which was higher than that of 78.38% in the control group （P<0.05）. After treatment， the levels of serum B-ALP，OC and OPG all increased and β-CTX decreased in the two groups. And the levels of serum B-ALP，OC and OPG in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group，but the level of β-CTX was lower than that in the control group，all with statistically significant differences（P<0.05）. No obvious ADRs were found in both groups. Conclusion Zishen Jiangtang Pill combined with alendronate sodium has a definite effect in the treatment of senile DOP. It can effectively control blood glucose，increase BMD and improve bone metabolism index. Therefore，it is safe and effective.
