A Holistic View of National Security and CPC’s National Security Thought

Editor’s Note:In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and further promote the theoretical and practical research of the Holistic View of National Security,the Center for the Holistic View of National Security held an academic conference on the theme of‘the Holistic View of National Security and the National Security Thought of the CPC’in Beijing.Dozens of distinguished scholars from more than 10 institutions attended the conference,and they discussed the 100 years’development of the CPC’s national security thought,the relations between the Holistic View of National Security and the goal of national rejuvenation.

The New Featuresand Dynamicsof the Japan-USAlliance

Abstract:Against the new backdrop,the Japan-US alliance presents some new features:more obvious hostility to China,more global actions,more equality and mutual assistance.Many elements promote the Japan-US alliance to change and adjust.Both Japan and the USregard a rising China as an adversary.America cedes more profits and decentralizes more power to Japan in order to protect its hegemony in the Asia Pacific region.Japan defense reform improves its defense capability.The Democratic Party of the United States values the alliance to serve its global strategy and enhances strategic importance of Japan.The Japan-US alliance will further seek to expand its capacity,and continue to maintain its expansion under the adjustment of the international pattern.

Maritime Security in the Gulf of Guinea and Its Multi-level Governance

Abstract:Maritime security issues in the Gulf of Guinea have become increasingly prominent.Pirate attacks have intensified and intertwined with other maritime security issues.The Gulf of Guinea has become the most dangerous sea area in the world.The relevant parties have built a multi-level security governance structure in the Gulf of Guinea that combines international society and regional organizations,official and private actors,but it has failed to achieve the expected results.Compared with the effectiveness of security governance in the Gulf of Aden,complex geopolitical factors are important to the failure of security governance in the Gulf of Guinea.To alleviate or even eliminate security threats in the Gulf of Guinea,it is necessary to learn from the past experiencesin maritime security governance.The international community and regional countries should form a strategic consensus and realize integrated land-sea governance.

Global Fintech Regulation and Its Reform Trend

Abstract:Since 2018,enabled policies,capital boost and the outbreak of COVID-19 have combined to usher in an explosive growth period of fintech.While the industry boasts a great potential to reduce cost,enhance efficiency and promote financial inclusiveness,it may also pose grave risks to financial stability,level-field competition,social equity,sustainable development if regulated inadequately.In the last decade,major economies have adopted a policy position toward fintech featured by encouragement and light regulation.This stance of preserving the existing regulation and supervision framework while tinkering with rules in selected areas gives rise to problems such as unbalanced and insufficient regulation.

Lancang-Mekong Security Cooperation

Abstract:Since the operation of law enforcement security cooperation mechanism in Lancang Mekong basin for 10 years,it has achieved a major transformation from“case cooperation”to“establishment mechanism”to“Lancang Mekong law enforcement center”.At present,with the increase of risk points and sources of turbulence in the basin,the future development of the Lancang Mekong law enforcement security cooperation mechanism faces many practical difficulties and challenges.As the leading country,China is necessary to further clarify the basic ideas of the future development of law enforcement security cooperation in Lancang Mekong.
