Haixin Bridge: A Marvelous Landmark in Guangzhou

Haixin Bridge,which has been open to the public since last June,has become a new landmark and attracted lots of residents in Guangzhou.It is also the first footbridge（人行橋）over the Pearl River.Haixin Bridge is a place where the new Guangzhou meets its past.

The bridge was designed by He Jingtang’s team,led by members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.His design concept shows many features of traditional Lingnan culture.The delicate curves（曲線）of the bridge resemble waving water sleeves（水袖）in Yueju opera.It is like Lingnanguqinas well.In this way,the bridge successfully enriches the connotation（內涵）of Lingnan culture.

Haixin Bridge also shows Guangzhou’s modern lifestyle,too.It is not only beautiful and elegant,but also functional（實用的）.There are two sidewalks on the bridge.The shorter one is for those who are in a hurry.But you can always choose the longer one and walk slowly,to appreciate the beauty of the Pearl River.There is a non-stop shade canopy（遮陽雨篷）on the bridge,so citizens can walk on it no matter the weather.Many advanced technologies can also be found there.Just scan the QR code of the bridge,and you are provided with a travel guide,science education and other information about the bridge.

Over the past several years,Guangzhou and the whole country have changed greatly.Now,our country enters a new era.Haixin Bridge isn’t merely a conclusion of the past.It reflects and records this great era in which China made countless achievements.Haixin Bridge also plays a role as a pioneer of the promising future.
