The legendof Zhuang culture believes that the goddess of the frog is in charge of windand rain. In Guangxi， the frog is also called “maguai”（ 螞拐）. On the firstday of the first lunar month every year， it is the Maguai Festival. At dawn，people beat bronze drums and flock to the fields to find hibernating frogs，and then bring them back to their village. They believed that this activitycan bring good weather and many children tothe village.
