Amber:(To the flight attendant) Here's my ticket and seat assignment.
Attendant:Thank you. That way, please. (Indicates the correct aisle)
Amber:May I have a pillow and blanket, please?
Attendant:An attendant will pass them around after we take off.
Amber:(After taking off, the flight attendant steps to Amber to pass her a pillow and blanket.)May I have headphones for the in-flight movie?
Attendant:No problem. Here are your head-phones. Do you want something to drink?
Amber:Thanks, a coke please.
After that, with the happiness of thinking about various American dreams, Amber is drinking her cola together with enjoying the movies being played on the flight. Just when it comes to the end of the movie, the long-dreamed-of American city comes into her view. She finally arrives at the first stop of her first visit to the U.S.A.
Amber:
Attendant:
Amber:

As the plane lands, her friend Ethabella comes to pick her up. Since it's the first time of her going to America, after a long time flight, Amber feels very tired. So Ethabella drives Amber to the hotel she reserved. What does she say to make sure that her accommodations are acceptable?
Ethabella:Here's the hotel, Amber. Do you need any help?
Amber:No, that's quite all right. Thanks for the offer.
Ethabella:Don't mention it. I'll come by Sunday morning at 7:00. We eat breakfast together first and then we go to my apartment. There we can recall the past, by the way. I'll tell you something about the American custom.
Amber:OK. See you then. (Amber steps out of the car as a hotel porter arrives)
Porter:Good afternoon, miss. May I take your bags?
Amber:Ok, thanks. (She steps into the hotel and goes to the reception)
Receptionist:Good afternoon, do you have reservation?
Amber:Yes, I do. Miss Lee. Please give me a no-smoking room.
Receptionist:Ok, miss. (Checks on the com-puter) Miss lee has already paid for it. Please sign here.
Amber:Ok, do you have room service?
Receptionist:Yes, miss. The menu is in your room. This is your key. I will arrange the bellman to pick up your luggage.
Amber:Good, thank you.
Ethabella:Amber
Amber:
Porter:
Amber:
Receptionist:
Amber:
Amber:

Amber goes to the Post Office to buy stamps for the letter she has just written. It's really not so different from what she is used to back home!
Clerk: Good afternoon, miss. How can I help you?
Amber: Good afternoon. I'd like to send a letter to China. How much does it cost?
Clerk: We'll need to weigh it first. (Weighs the letter) It would be $2.10. Would you like insurance on the contents of your letter?
Amber: No, this letter is nothing special. Just a letter to my mom. Here's a $5. (Hands the clerk the money) About how long do you think it'll take to get to China?
Clerk: About a week. Your change is $2.90.
Amber: Thank you very much.
Clerk: Thank you for choosing the United States Postal Service. Have a nice day.
Clerk:
Amber:
Clerk:
Amber:
Clerk:
