第一節問候、告別及答語

1. “Good morning!”是自早晨起床后到中午十二點間的問候語,“Good afternoon!”用于下午(12點—6點左右),晚飯后至睡覺前用“Good evening!” 如果是朋友、平輩之間,可以用 “Hi / Hello!”來打招呼。 Hi比Hello 更隨便一些。

在英語中,一般把稱呼放在問候語的后面,如 “Good evening, Mr Green.” 格林先生,晚上好。

2. “How are you?”用于詢問對方身體狀況,回答時常用 “Fine(I’m fine / I’m OK), thank you.” 也可根據自己的實際情況,回答”Not bad.(不壞)/ Just so so .(一般)”/或者” I’m not fine.(不好)/ I feel ill.(生病了)”

如果對方身體不適,可以詢問: How do you feel now? / How are you feeling now? / Are you feeling better now?

3. “How do you do?” ( 您好!) “Nice to meet you.”(見到你很高興)。這兩句多用于雙方初次見面時寒暄語或是互不認識的雙方經介紹后表達對方的問候,另一方回答同一句話。若再次相見常用 Nice to see you. 或 Nice to see you again.

4. “Good bye.”是比較正式的告別語。其他的告別用語還有:See you (soon). (再見)/ See you later. / See you tomorrow. (明天見) / Good night (晚安)

在一些非正式場合,熟人特別是小孩之間還常用:Bye-bye/ Bye.

1. 常用的表示歉意的句式有:“Excuse me“和 “Sorry”。另外,加強語氣說:I’m so sorry.真對不起。/I feel terribly sorry.實在是對不起。常用的答句有:That’s Ok/That’s all right./It doesn’t matter./Never mind.

當你向別人問路、打聽時間、借東西、插話等需要打擾或麻煩別人時,用“Excuse me.”當你說錯話、認錯人、遲到、不能回答對方問題等,向別人道歉時用sorry.

2.在英語語言國家,“Thank you”比中國人的“謝謝”使用場合要多得多。向別人表示感謝有多種方法:Thank you(very much). / Many thanks. / Thanks (a lot). / It’s very kind of you. “Thank you.”的語氣較強于“Thanks.”。回答別人的感謝也有多種表示方法:“That’s OK. / That’s all right. / You’re welcome. / It’s my pleasure. / Not at all. / Don’t mention it.”

3. 表示邀請時語氣都應比較客氣,可在句子后面或前面加please;征求別人意見或需要時,用 “Would you…?”更為客氣和禮貌。對方常用“Yes,please. / Yes,I’d love to”或“No,thanks.”來回答。

在交際中,幫助別人或請求別人幫助都不可缺少,因此,學會在不同場合使用正確得體的語言是很必要的。

1. 請求別人做某事時,我們可以說:Can(Could)you…?/ Would you…? /…, please./“Could you do me a favour?”是很婉轉、很客氣的用法。

2. 請求別人允許自己做某事時,我們常用句型:Let me…, please. / Can I …? / May I…? / ShallI…?

3. Pardon? 請您再說一遍好嗎?

用于沒聽清楚對方的話,請求對方再重復一遍,說的時候要用升調。

4. 關于請求的幾種回答:

1.關于勸告的常用語中常用don’t, can’t, must, shouldn’t, should 等詞來強調。如:Don’t take off your coat. / you can’t sit there. / You must go now!

2.表示建議的常用語中常用Let’s, Shall ,What , Would you, How about….等詞。如:Let’s open the box. / Look at the bird. / Shall we get her some flowers?

3.在回答勸告句式時,若表示接受勸告,可答”OK/All right.” 在表示歉意時,可答”Sorry.”或”I’m sorry.”

4.在應答建議時,可加以描述”How nice!/It’s lovely/Sounds good.” 回答”Shall…?”句型用”Yes”或”Good/Great”等。

5.有時也用反義詞來表示說話者的強烈語氣,說明此時應該如何做,而對方卻沒有做,如:A:It’s ten o’clock. I’m sleepy.B:Why don’t you go to bed now?

6.在一些公共的標識或符號中,則用較嚴厲的語氣告誡人們不能做某事,通常使用祈使句。如:No smoking!Keep quiet!Danger!等

從上面的例題我們可以看出,英語國家的人在打電話時的語言表達與我們漢語習慣不太一樣,所以我們要熟記電話用語。下列情景應注意:

1.電話接通時,打電話的人應先打招呼”Hello.” 但國外許多人在接電話時就習慣說Hello,并報出自己的電話號碼,如“Hello,this is 3367543.” 打電話的那方就可接著開始詢問“May/Could/Can I speak to…/Is…in/there,please?”

2. 當你想知道對方是誰時,應委婉地說“Who’s that speaking / calling , please?”

3. 當對方恰是你要找的人時,你應當說:“It’s…. here.”做自我介紹。如不是時,你可以委婉地問其何時在家以便下次通話,也可托人捎個信。如“Could you take a message for me?”別忘了表示感謝。接電話方可用“Sure.”或“Certainly.”/ “Sorry, I’ll out.”來回答。

4. 如果來電話請幫忙找人可說“(Wait for)A minute. / A moment./ Just a minute, please.”或“Hold on, please.” 如果要找的人不在,通常用“Sorry , but he / she is out.”來敘述。找到該人后,可對他說”It’s for you. / It’s your phone call. / A phone call for you.”或簡單的說“For you.”

1. 生活中,當我們需要尋找某人或某物,可以用”Where is / are…?” 開頭的特殊問句,要注意單、復數形式。談論人物時,注意區分人物的性別,正確使用人稱代詞he(他)或she(她)。

2. 找人、找物都離不開地點,要準確使用表示地點的介詞(詞組),特別是習慣搭配。如在車站用介詞 at。

3. 問物時,物體名稱前一般加冠詞 the 或物主代詞。如: Where is the cinema? / Where are my pens? 如果問人, 人名或人稱代詞前則不加the,而表示人物的名詞前加the。

4. 在尋找物品的過程中,為了說明人或物品先前所處的位置,常常要用到過去時態。如:My belt was there a moment ago, but it is not there now.

寫的策略
