Plot Outline:

One day， Horton the elephant hears a cry from help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck， he decides to help it. As it turns out， the speck of dust is Whos， who live in their city of Who-ville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home， but this gives him nothing but torment from his neighbors， who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck. Still， Horton stands by the motto that， \"After all， a person is a person， no matter how small.\"

一天，大象霍頓聽到來自空氣中漂浮的一粒塵埃的求助的哭聲。即使他在里面什么都沒看到，但是他還是決定幫助它。那小東西從灰塵里掉了出來，它叫無名氏，住在一個叫無名城的地方。霍頓毅然決定幫助、保護這些小東西，并送它們回家。他不顧鄰居們的嘲笑，因為他們根本不相信在塵埃里還會有生命。無論如何，霍頓堅持自己的座右銘，“畢竟，再小的人也是人。”

Horton Hears a Who， from 20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age films). Jim Carrey will voice the role of the immortal Horton， the elephant who knows that a person's a person， no matter how small. Steve Carell will voice the Mayor of Who-ville， a distinguished figure of a very small size， too small to be seen by the elephant's eyes.

On the fifteenth of May， in the jungle of Nool， in the heat of the day， in the cool of the pool， Horton was splashing...enjoying the jungle's great joys...When Horton the elephant heard a small noise.

5月15日，Nool的叢林里，一天中最熱的時候，涼爽的池塘旁邊，大象霍頓正在噴水……享受著愉快的叢林生活……這時他聽到了一個小小的聲音。

So Horton stopped splashing. He looked towards the sound. \"That's funny，\" thought Horton. \"There's no one around.\" Then he heard it again! Just a very faint yelp as if some tiny person was calling for help. \"I'll help you，\" said Horton. \"But who are you? Where?\" He looked and he looked. He could see nothing there， but a small speck of dust blowing past though the air.

霍頓停止了噴水。他四處尋找著那個聲音。“太奇怪了，”霍頓想。“這里根本沒人。”突然他又聽到！只是一個很微弱的聲音，好像有個很小的人在求救。“我會幫助你的，”霍頓說。“但是你是誰？在哪？”他看了又看。可是他什么都看不到，只有一小粒塵埃從空中飄過。

\"I say!\" murmured Horton. \"I've never heard of a small speck of dust that is able to yell. So you know what I think? ... I think that there must be someone on top of that small speck of dust! \"

Some sort of a creature of very small size， too small to be seen by an elephant's eyes...

“我知道了！”諾頓說。“我從來沒有聽說過一個小塵埃還能夠喊叫。所以你知道我是怎么想的嗎？……為什么，我認為那塵埃上面一定有人！”

\"...some poor little person who's shaking with fear. That he'll blow in the pool! He has no way to steer! I'll just have to save him. Because， after all， a person's a person， no matter how small.\"

原著出版于1954年，作者是Ted Geisel（筆名蘇斯博士），他的書迄今已經買了2億多冊，被翻譯成了15種語言。動畫片《霍頓與無名氏》由Jimmy Hayward和Steve Martino共同導演，二十世紀福克斯公司旗下的動畫公司負責制作和發行。
