近幾年來，濟南的城市面貌逐漸擺脫了老舍筆下那個“灰蒙蒙的城市”，變得新鮮靚麗、生機盎然。

作為第十一屆全國運動會和第七屆園博會的舉辦城市，濟南市城市建設快速發展，基礎設施得到了進一步完善，城市風光也越來越美麗。

濟南的道路橫平豎直，既有大道通衢，也有尋常巷陌。既有如經十路般的開闊通達、橫貫東西，也有如芙蓉街般的古舊熱鬧、風情十足。

作為十一運主場館——濟南奧體中心位于濟南東部新城區，包括一場三館，其“東荷西柳”的建筑造型為濟南增添了一處風格獨特的地標性建筑。場館的設計分別取自濟南的市花和市樹，將濟南的歷史文化、泉城特色與現代建筑藝術完美地融合在一起，代表了一個與時俱進、有活力有激情的新濟南。

隨著社會經濟的發展，作為山東首善之區的濟南，目前已成為具有獨特自然風貌、悠久歷史文化、濃郁現代化氣息的繁榮、和諧、宜居、魅力新泉城。

Jinan， ancient yet young， is a city with mountains as its body， rivers as its frame， and springs as its soul. “A lake surrounded by lovely lotuses and weeping willows; a city embraced by picturesque mountains and enchanting lake.” This is the most vivid description about her， and also the most charming and exciting explanation of this city.

The old town is the best place for appreciating Jinan’s long history. Qianfo (Thousand Buddha) Mountain， Baotu Spring， Daming Lake， Quancheng Square are scattered in it. Green mountains，springs and weeping willow in every house and the jingling spring water enable Jinan to be a must-see destination for tasting Jinan’s culture and customs. Friends， old or new， gather together near stone bridges to make tea with spring water. After a period of busy life， they spend a leisurely time in the scene of scented lotuses and weeping willows， which is a classical lifestyle of Jinan people.

People here are expansive， trustworthy， good-natured and hospitable， which are endowed by the mountains and rivers of this city. Visitors would totally not feel themselves to be strangers to this city， for they would be greatly influenced by native’s warm-heartedness and kindness when asking ways. And they would not see a single elder citizen or pregnant woman standing on any bus due to the native’s courteous behavior.

In recent years， Jinan has gradually become fresher and more beautiful and vigorous， instead of that “grey city” that was described by Laoshe.

Roads in Jinan straightly stretch longitudinally and latitudinally. There are wide roads such as the free-flowing Jingshi Road traversing from east to west， and narrow alleys such as the ancient but lively Furong Street with unique charm.

With the development of social economy， Jinan， as the capital city of Shandong， has currently become a new City of Springs， prosperous， harmonious， livable and charming， a city with special natural characteristics， a long history and deep cultural foundation， and full modern atmosphere.
