（2）first? adv.“首先，最初”，作狀語，修飾動詞或句子，可位于句首、句中或句尾。

GRAMMAR FOCUS

why引導(dǎo)的特殊疑問句

（1）why是疑問副詞，常用來引導(dǎo)詢問做某事的原因或理由的特殊疑問句。其結(jié)構(gòu)為：“Why + 一般疑問句？”。

Why didnt you go to the park yesterday？

昨天你為什么沒去公園？

（2）why引導(dǎo)的特殊疑問句，一般用because來回答。because是連詞，其后接一個句子來陳述原因、理由。

—Why is Lily late again？

莉莉為什么又遲到了？

—Because she gets up late.

因為她起晚了。

特殊疑問句的特殊疑問詞包括wh-開頭的特殊疑問詞，和以how及how開頭的詞組。如：what，when，where，why，how，how long，how far等。

形容詞的基本用法

形容詞修飾名詞，用以說明事物或人的性質(zhì)或特征。大多數(shù)形容詞既可作定語又可作表語。

（1）作定語：用于修飾名詞，表示名詞的屬性，常置于它所修飾的名詞前。

這是一本舊書。

（2）作表語：形容詞可以置于be，look，get，keep，feel，taste，sound等連系動詞后面作表語。

The flowers are beautiful.
