Weddings are festive times in the United States. The two families plan the wedding and reception together，although the brides family generally pays for the wedding. Usually the bride wears a long white gown and veil （面紗） to signify purity，and the groom and his attendants wear tuxedos（無尾晚禮服）. Guests generally wear dressy（挺刮的）clothes to the service and reception.

The reception is a party for the bride and groom after the wedding service to which one must be invited.
