Sit in the front row， raise your hand， and ask questions.

A lot of people are shy and don’t want to do it， but for me it is the only way to get my questions answered and keep going. They call me a goody two-shoes， but who cares？

很多人都不好意思，不想這樣做。但對我來說，這是解答疑問并能繼續(xù)向前的唯一方式。他們都說我是“假好人”，無所謂啦，反正我不在意。

It’s Okay to cry when you don’t do well in a test.

考試考得不好的話，哭一場也沒關系。

Those emotions are there for a reason. You have to grieve your losses， but don’t let them stop you from doing great things.

人們情感的存在都是有原因的。失敗時可以悲傷，但是不要讓悲傷阻止你做偉大的事情。

It’s normal to want to drop out.

想退學很正常。

But once you’ve gotten that far， it’s worth finishing. There are people you can go to， and ways to get around those feelings； you don’t need to use psychological services.

但是一旦你已經開始學習，完成學業(yè)還是值得的。一旦你有那樣的想法，你可以找人傾訴，或找一些方法來進行調整，沒有必要使用心理服務。

Never underestimate the importance of taking good， thorough notes.

不要低估做好、做全筆記的重要性。

I prefer organized， efficient， longhand note taking. I’m really grateful to my mom， who was a list-taker. I don’t come from a fancy academic family， but my mom knows how to make a good list， and that really helps me. Don’t be afraid to use too much paper.

我喜歡有條理的、高效的、普通書寫的筆記。我非常感謝我的媽媽，她很喜歡列清單。我沒有出生在學術氛圍濃厚的家庭中，但是我媽媽知道怎樣才能列出一張好的清單，這對我真的很有幫助。不要怕浪費紙。

It’s helpful to have at least one person who doesn’t let you drop out.

如果至少有一個人不想讓你退學，那么對你來說會很有幫助。

You often feel like your mom and dad， or your friend， don’t really get it. But it really helps me to speak to people in my department who have finished， even though they， too， feel discouraged.

你經常覺得你的爸爸、媽媽或朋友根本就不明白你的處境。但是對我來說，和系里高年級已經完成學位的人交流一下很有幫助，雖然有時候她們也覺得很氣餒。

goody two-shoes：一個古老的俚語，表示“一個有美德的好人”。今天，它多用來形容“偽善的好人”，這種人往往會通過炫耀
