Recessionista
Meaning: A recessionista is a person who stays fashionable during an economic downturn[衰退] without spending a lot of money. This word is a play on fashionista, a person who wears fashionable clothing or works in the high-fashion industry.
Originally, recessionista referred to a person who insisted that a recession was coming or believed that a recession would be good for the long-term health of the economy.
Booth Bunny
Meaning: Booth bunny refers to a good looking woman behind the booth usually representing a product at a trade show. The ‘bunny’behind the booth knows very little about the product, and can’t answer any questions, but she sure is attracting buyers.
The talent agency typically supplies up to 90 models—known in trade-show vernacular as booth bunnies.
Bimbo
Meaning: Bimbo is a term that emerged in popular English language usage in the early 20th century to describe an often physically attractive, unintelligent woman. Use of this term began in the United States as early as 1919. The 1929 silent film Desert Nights describes a wealthy female crook[無賴] as a bimbo.
Miss Fernee said, “I’m not lazy and I’m no bimbo. The truth is my good looks have caused massive problems for me when it comes to employment, so I’ve made the decision that the job market just isn’t for me at the moment.”
