A good pediatric nurse should be able to establish good communication with the patient’s family members.

背景

患兒，徐晶，女，2歲，因患高熱驚厥抽搐發作而入院。其母因孩子反復發病，脾氣急躁。對醫護人員抱怨、挑剔，對孩子輕微的不適反應過激。護士小周來到病床邊進行護理。

Background

Baby girl, Xu Jing, 2 years old, was admitted to the hospital because of febrile convulsions. Her mother became short-tempered for the repeated attacks from her child’s disease. She criticized the medical personnel and overreacted to her child’s slightest discomfort. Nurse Zhou came to the patient’s bedside to care for her.

護士：大姐，徐晶用了鎮靜劑后睡了1 h?，F在有沒有不舒服的表現？

病兒媽媽：不舒服？她肯定不舒服，剛才抽搐時兩眼上翻，四肢僵硬，怎么會舒服呢？再給我孩子量量體溫吧。

護士：她現在體溫是正常的，我5 min前剛給她量的體溫是37.2 ℃。過一會兒我再給她量吧。

病兒媽媽：你這個護士服務態度怎么這么差？叫你量個體溫你也不愿意。你看她臉紅紅的，肯定又發燒了。

護士：大姐，對不起，惹您生氣了，別著急，我馬上再給她量一下，并請醫生來檢查一下。

(護士給徐晶量了體溫，是37.0 ℃。醫生檢查完后認為患兒病情穩定，暫時不需要特殊處理，需繼續觀察。)

護士：大姐，醫生給你的孩子檢查過了，一切在恢復正?！，F在盡量不要打擾她，讓她好好休息吧，我們會密切觀察她的病情的。

Interactions

Nurse: Mrs. Xu, your daughter has slept for an hour after taking the sedative. Is she having any discomfort now?

Patient’s Mother: Discomfort? She must be in discomfort. When she was twitching a while ago, her eyes were rolled up and her four limbs were stiff. How could she be comfortable? Take my child’s temperature again.

Nurse: Her body temperature is normal now. It was 37.2 ℃ when I took it five minutes ago. I will take her temperature again later.

Patient’s Mother: How come your attitude is so bad? You are unwilling to take her body temperature when I asked you to. Look at her, her face is all red. She must have a fever.

Nurse: I am sorry Mrs. Xu. I made you angry. Don’t worry, I will take her temperature at once and will also send for a doctor.

(The nurse took Xu Jing’s temperature. It was 37.0 ℃. After finishing checking the patient, the doctor thought the infant’s condition was stable and did not need special treatment at that moment, except continuing observation.)

Nurse:Mrs.Xu,the doctor has examined your child and thoutght that everything is turning to mormal.We should try not to disturb her now and let her to have a good test.We will observe her condition closely.
