Chongqing featuring mountains and waters, Inchon being famous as a harbor Two cities have moved forward in enhancing cooperation and exchange concerning tourism

The inland tourism resource of Chongqing and the charming islands are complementary to each other

On May 11th, tourism introduction and marketing event sponsored by Inchon was held in Chongqing. On the tourism introduction and marketing event of Inchon, mayor of Inchon,Yoo JeongBok has briefed the basic conditions of Inchon. He commented that, in South Korean TV Series, such as the hotly broadcasted “Man from the Stars” and “Descendents of the Sun”, a large number of scenes are shot in Inchon, and the tourism routes set according to movie and television series are very distinctive.

Located in the northwest of South Korea, Inchon is the second largest harbor city with advantageous infrastructures of airports and harbors. There are 168 scenic islands dotting around Inchon and also rich in marine resources. Moreover, the largest Chinatown enjoying a history of 130 years can be found in Inchon, too.

Wang Dingguo, deputy director general of Chongqing Tourism Administration, addressed that South Korea has been the tourism destination favored by more and more Chinese tourists with the relationship between China and South Korea continuously warming up and several South Korea movies and television series being broadcasted in China. In 2015, Chongqing, of which the great mountains, valleys, and waters are preferred by South Korea tourists, has received 200,000 South Korea tourists. In the near future, both two cities will further explore and implement tourism cooperation and exchange projects in virtue of that the inland tourism resource of Chongqing and the charming islands are complementary to each other.

Ahn SungKook, Consul of South Korea consulate general in Chengdu introduced that China and South Korea have established the year of 2015 and 2016 as “China Year of Tourism” and “South Korea Year of Tourism” respectively in 2014. During the first three months in this year, the number of Chinese tourist visiting South Korea enjoys a year-on year growth of 12%. And targeting on Chinese tourists, South Korea has implemented the visa policy of extending the residence time and other generous visa policies.

Tang Wen, deputy director of Chongqing Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, has attended the introduction and marketing event.

The former South Korea interim government site has seen the friendly sentiments between China and South Korea

During this visit,Yoo JeongBok has visited the former South Korea interim government site. When standing before the statue of Kim Gu, the leader of independence movement, which was honored as “The Father of South Korea”, he has conveyed that people of South Korea and Chongqing have commonly seen the history of fi ghting against Japanese Imperialism, and people of South Korea will always remember the aids provided by people of Chongqing in South Korea independence movement, and hopes the friendly relationship sourced from Anti-Japanese War period will endure forever.

Yoo JeongBok has also visited the China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing.
