一、教學課型

本節課的閱讀材料是一篇日記,中心話題是my first day at senior high,內容涉及初高中學校的異同,描寫了新高中英語課堂教學,抒發了對新學校的無比熱愛和對新校園生活的美好憧憬。

二、教材分析

1、教學內容(外研版,必修1 p.1-2)

2、教材處理及設計思路。以“my first day at senior high”為主題是描寫高中生活的學校生活和課外活動,比較初高中生活與舊學校生活的異同,筆者以在校學生的真實情況為背景,讓學生在教學過程中主動參與、親身實踐、獨立思考和合作探究。同時考慮到學生的整體水平以,編排順序等進行了調整、刪減和補充。

3、教學目標。掌握描述學校、教師和學生的詞匯和句型;培養學生把握文章脈絡和進行整體閱讀的能力;提高學生的閱讀能力。

4、教學的重點和難點。培養學生的閱讀策略及獲取信息的方法;引導學生找出文章的主題句,學會歸納段落大意;學會描述自己對新學校和新老師和新班級的第一印象。

三、教學設計

1、總體思路 本節課的內容分四大部分:pre-reading activities ,while-reading activities,post-reading activities以及meaningful activity 。其中讀前活動由聽我校的校歌、觀看有關學校生活的視頻,然后讓學生討論“my school life”,提供范文并讓學生大聲朗讀。閱讀活動由閱讀課文活動、尋讀、略讀、細讀和復述環節組成,所設計的問題層層深入,訓練活動環環相扣,著眼于提高學生的閱讀能力。讀后活動讓學生學會用自己的語言描述如何盡快地由初中順利地轉入高中,并調整適合自己的學習方式來完成高中學習任務。

2、教學過程

Step1. Pre-reading activities for interest(7minutes)

Activity 1. Appreciating The School Song Of Yang County No.2 Middle School.(2 minutes)Play the School Song followed by these questions:

1)Where is Yang County Second Middle School?

2)When was it set up?

3)How many teachers and students are there in the school?

Activity 2 Enjoy a few pictures on the screen and ask the students to answer some questions.(5 minutes)

1.What can you see in the picture and what are they doing?

2.What song do you know is playing?

3.What do you think about the after-school activities?

4.How can you make the best of their after-school activities?

Step 2 While-reading activities for comprehension(22 minutes)

Activity 1.Discussion Discuss the following questions.

1)What are the main differences between Junior High school and Senior High school?

2)Do you think that work at Senior High school is harder than at Junior High school?

3)Are Senior High teachers similar to junior High teachers?

Activity 2. Scanning(2minutes)Show the questions on the screen.

1.How do the teachers use the computer in the classrooms?

2.Does Li Kang like to have an English class at Senior High? Why ?

3.What does Li Kang think of the new Senior High school?

Activity 3 Understanding Main Ideas(3 minutes)

(1)Read and answer the question :Whats the main idea of the passage?

Step.3. Post-reading activities for production(13 minutes)

1. Discussion How about the writing style and techniques of this text?

1)Catch the features of people and things and use adjectives very exactly.

2)Lay the stress on the main subjects and purpose, writing details and briefs properly.

3)Use the first person to make readers feel real, natural and sincere.

Activity 2 Talking (5minuters)

How do you finish the transition smoothly from the Junior Middle School to the Senior High school and adapt yourselves to the new learning circumstance as soon as possible?

Step4 Meaningful activity (4')Ask the students to discuss the questions:

1) Whod like to describe our classroom?

2) How about the number of students of our class?

3) What should we learn from this text?

Step5. Homework Write a short passage to describe your own first day at Senior High.
